Hilarious isn't it? They're all confident Tito would win, but on no real basis, they just think he's a "special talent"

People are acting like Tito was a one handed fighter. His right hand was very dangerous too. It's easy to imagine Tito getting pbf against the ropes and hurting him there.

Only if Floyd chooses to lay on the ropes. If we're talking about the Floyd who fought Baldomir or Marquez; moving constantly...Tito doesn't stand much of a chance.

No it isn't. Tito isn't a pressure fighter, and he had shit movement and ridiculously slow feet. He needed to be set for a few seconds to punch.

His style is predicated on opponents being aggressive and/or easy to hit. Against guys with good movement or tight defense, he looked like a clueless scrub, and got dominated.

And now he's going to beat one of the best defensive fighters in boxing history?

    Again, the idea is laughable.

Odh has better feet than floyd. Better legs. Tito chased him down. Yeah. Pbf could run like he did against pacquiao but I'd call that a loss.

There's a reason pbf only fights small welters moving up. And it's because as much as he fights like a scared vagina, he still gets hit. Like all fighters.

One of the most absurd things I've ever read on Fightbeat. Oscar was a very good fighter, and his hands were properly quick, but his footspeed and movement were nothing more than decent.

Floyd at 130/135 was ridiculously agile, in the time it took someone to load up on a punch, he'd be behind them. They are not even comparable. Floyd has always been far more agile than Oscar, and had much better movement.

And even Oscar's merely decent movement and footwork was enough to clown Tito, who fights like his feet are in mud.

He'd literally look like he was fighting in slow motion against Floyd.

Pbf has fast feet but he doesn't really box with his legs the way odh could. That's my point. Whereas odh was able to constantly circle, pbf does not. So think about what I've said before you embarrass yourself with another slobbering....pbf the best! He fast and agile..best ever!

Have you forgotten that I'm actually a Pacquiao fan and Floyd "hater"?

You're talking utter shit, I'm being objective. If anyone is slobbering, it's you, over Oscar's greasy nuts of dubious sexuality, you fucking plum.

Yes Floyd boxes with his legs much better than Oscar ever could, it's not even arguable.

You're saying pbf moves around on his toes jabbing without being set? You're full of shit. He does not.

    Whatever.

Pbf obviously uses movement. But he's not a Larry Holmes or a Ali. He's not circling with his jab the way those guys did (and the way odh fought against tito). That's the distinction I'm making. If you can't see that who gives a fuck but it's an observation Emmanuel steward made and it's true.

The 135-140 Floyd would beat the 147 Tito. No doubt in my mind. MWS is the only one in this thread making any sense whatsoever

PBF at 130-135 used a lot of movement. He's more flat-footed now at the heavier weights.

    It's surreal isn't it?

You have a guy who is historically overrated, made to look like a 1 dimensional scrub against all the elite fighters he faced, against an ATG defensive wizard, who literally feasts on Tito's style, yet they're all baselessly picking Tito "Just cos" :laugh11:

You are a madman. De La Hoya did that ONCE in his career (against Tito), and he wasn't that effective in doing it. Most of the time Oscar was moving and doing nothing...and then occasionally he'd stop, fire shoeshines and get on his bicycle again.

    Watch Mayweather-Corrales, Mayweather-Baldomir, Mayweather-Marquez, Mayweather-Canelo, Mayweather-Gatti, Mayweather-Guerrero....

actually just watch a Mayweather fight, period, before you continue making such asinine statements.

My feeling is Tito beat guys by hurting them. If he couldn't hurt them, he couldn't beat them.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that at 147, Tito (whether because of tape or not) could've hurt pbf. The debate then comes down to whether or not pbf could avoid getting hit period. I think he would for the most part... but eventually he does get hit. And multiple times.

Tito couldn't hurt wright. He couldn't hurt hopkins. He couldn't win.

When Floyd has been hurt in the past he tends to recover quickly and adjust even quicker. You rarely see him get hit continuously by the same punch. I don't think Tito would be good enough to hurt him in the first place, and even if he did, he isn't going to hurt him a second time.

You're talking about an aged PBF against a guy who fights NOTHING like Tito. On top of that, it was a fight he WON.

Don't forget, Tito was a pressure fighter. He'd be in Floyd's face for every second of every round, chasing him down, roughing him up, pinning him on the ropes etc :laugh11:

So his fights against Vargas, Reid, Whitaker, Joppy, he did not apply pressure and bring the fight to his opponent? Is the definition of a pressure fighter somebody who fights with no technique or skill, like the likes of Maidana??..

What is this world coming to?

A pressure fighter is someone who pressures his opponent pretty much the whole time, highly aggressive with a high workrate, and smothers their foe, with good infighting - like Duran. Duran is basically the definition of a pressure fighter, and the best one ever. No, not like Maidana with no technique or skill - I didn't say that did I? But obviously Maidana is a pressure fighter, just a scrubby one.

And no, he didn't look like a pressure fighter in any of those fights. He's a patient puncher, who stalks his opponent and looks for opportunities to land concise, well placed shots, primarily the left hook.

What is the world coming to indeed? When people don't even know the fucking difference between a puncher and a pressure fighter.

Tito needed to be set to throw, more of a stalker than pressure fighter as Mex said. That very reason is why Floyd would take Tito apart and it's what Hopkins exploited to a tee. Trinidad was never the type of guy to throw caution to the wind, even when being clearly outboxed, it's just not in his make up.

Exactly Slice, not hard to understand is it?

Calling Tito a pressure fighter is blatantly false, and just fucking mental. It's almost like calling Rocky Juarez or Tua pressure fighters. They are all stalkers, that wait for openings.

And yes you're right, that is key with Tito against Floyd. He is patient, and waits for openings. He doesn't create openings, and yeah, NEVER threw caution to the wind even when he was being whitewashed. He was actually too patient, and needs to be set to punch, which is exactly why Floyd would have his way with him in a ridiculously 1 sided fight.

I think the comparisons of Tua and Rocky Juarez are accurate. Trinidad has some similarities that have already been pointed out, but he's not in the same low tier.

As one example Tito beat the crap out of Whitaker. Was Pernell pretty much shot? Yes. Watch all 12 rounds though and you can see how Tito executed his offense very well against a still determined and great defensive fighter. Even if he lost, the same Sweet Pea never would have taken the same amount of punishment against Juarez.
