Tyson vs Berbick is the first pro fight I recall seeing, and from then I was hooked.

For a lot of us born in the 80s, Tyson was the one who got us into boxing. Salute and happy bday to Iron Mike.

 

I hope Mike can just outlive Don King.

Same here. I owe my boxing fandom to Iron Mike. I can still hear those magical words from Barry Tompkins when Berbick was stopped after going down three times from the same punch:

"That's it, that's all, and WE have a new era, in boxing!"

 

Tyson definitely was the biggest thing that got me into boxing as a little kid, for sure... I think that's true for most people in my age range

 

Holyfield got me into boxing with the qawi fight

 

clogg got into boxing after whitaker vs anthony "baby" jones

 

And Spring Thomas got you into the whole black cock slut thing :: :atu:

 

I think it's the last one you ever watched

 

I think the first big fight i watched live was actually the first Barrera-Morales fight

First boxing match I ever watched live was Henry Cooper vs Ingemar Johansson.

 

Well if you're putting it LIKE THAT... The earliest I have any conscious memories of are Boom Boom Mancini and Ray Leonard in the early 80s... But Duran/Barkley is the first fight where I was seeing it live and had some real understanding of the participants and the event

 

Battling Nelson vs Ad Wolgast, for me

 

He can still make a good comeback if he starts bobbing and weaving and if he gets back with his former trainer.

 

First fight I saw live was Ali-Holmes. Terrible fight to watch as your first fight.
