And playing Tyson's side, that strategy might not work the same for versus Tyson given how much faster Tyson exploded than Frazier, and given how much quicker he cut distance than Frazier.

Tyson was far quicker, more explosive, and less predictable than Frazier. I don't think that fight tells us much about Tyson Vs Foreman.

Hut said Frazier was trying to get in and then punch:dunno:

More or less, yes. The way they negotiate/use range is different. Joe liked to work within range, Tyson basically attacked while he covered range then unusually fell into a clinch if the other guy didnt back up

Yeah, for a 5'11 guy with short arms it's incredible how easily Tyson could whack people with lead hooks from the outside.

He outjabbed everyone, including 6'5 guys. I don't think the style comparison with Frazier works very well

    Underrated jab too, and hard.

Still don't really get how Tyson's jab was as effective as it was, as it wasn't even blazing fast like his powershots. Strange but true, his hooks were actually faster. Just the sheer explosiveness of them I guess.

But somehow Tyson's jab worked extremely well. Just hard and straight, and managed to find its target.

Frazier didn't really do that against George ... That's all I was pointing out

TBH, I don't even really remember what Frazier did do, I just remember him getting completely hammered in 1 sided fashion

I absolutely agree with The Hoote on this one. I don't know who wins, but I don't think it lasts long. It's an absolute shootout IMO.

1973 Foreman v Tyson is a tough fight to call. Frazier was fuck all like Tyson. Tysons's best punch was the uppercut and he used his speed and lead hook to set it up. Totally different fighter to Joe IMO.

The only guy to bring up Frazier "being like Tyson" was Hut who was doing so to illustrate that he wasn't in fact like Tyson:scared:

Tyson the night of the Douglas fight would not whip a lot of fighters.. He just partied and partied and expected to go steamroll some bum.. He was not prepared in the slightest. That's his fault for sure but he was not in condition to fight
