GGG beats the Hell outta Ottke, knocks him down twice, wins 9 outta 12 rounds..... and loses a 10-2 UD.
Sven Ottke was pretty much the reason why whole Germany was blamed for rigged officiating for fifteen years. Usually it is the same everywhere, but with Ottke's case it crossed the line. That being said, he was a good fighter too. A mind-numbingly boring one with a high guard and throwing nothing but jabs, but difficult to beat. How could he actually was is difficult to know since he didn't face the best
Ottke got gift decisions over precisely 1 fighter. Robin Reid, when Ottke was on the cusp of retirement. Knocking out Mundine with one punch and basically making a living for himself whilst fighting like Bernard Hopkins without the skills or power {tells you a lot about Hopkins and his fans} is as much as he could have hoped for. Right now, whether GGG fans like it or not, Ottle has fought and whipped better fighters than GGG and has fought and whipped better fighters than the guys GGG has been fighting. Right now, off the evidence of what I have seen of both, I will take a proven 168lbr who can box over a guy who is yet to fight anyone at 160. That he has not fought anyone is not GGG's fault, but its inapplicable here.
