If someone said Floyd or Pacquiao weren't elite fighters, would you think that's a reasonable enough opinion, because it can't be proven, it's all down to opinion? ::
Many people thought he lost to Hendricks. I had the fight even. But again, i get it, the man is tough. His toughness is elite. We are now comparing him to champions like GSP or Silva. Someone said here he could be one of the greatest WW champs of all time. Come on man?
I think today's Diaz simply isn't very good. He's lazier and you can tell his heart isn't really in it. Robbie is more focused and his confidence is at an all time high, he'd win.
I think TRP said it best. He is the best of the crop right now because he is on top. But he hasnt fought GSP, he hasnt fought Condit and if he fought Diaz again, i see him getting picked apart.
He is Champ. He automatically gets that comparison. Again, someone here said he could be the greatest WW champ
You don't think it's possible to be an elite fighter by simply being good at everything and not having many holes, even if you don't appear to be obviously elite in any one area? If so, how do you explain the fact that Frock and Braddles are proven elite fighters?
Same. Robbie's movement and footwork looks very good these days, by MMA standards. Diaz is very flat footed, and has fairly slow, floppy feet. A bit of movement worked wonders against him in the Condit fight. Robbie is patient these days too, he won't just stand in front of Diaz and trade away, he'll move around and pick his spots.
There's basically Neil. And how about Braddles? He is undoubtedly a proven elite fighter. Yet he is a guy that is simply a solid all rounder, with no obvious elite attribute.
What about him? He has benefited from Youth, Speed & Gift decisions. He will never break a top 100 list in boxing. If that's elite for you cool
You're denying that Bradley is an elite fighter? The guy has been ranked top 10 P4P for years, and beaten everyone he's faced apart from Pacquiao, one of the best fighters of all time. If that's not an elite fighter, what is? Just Pacquiao and Floyd? Do you have to be top 3 P4P to be elite, and one of the best fighters of all time? Bradley is obviously an elite fighter. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say the only reason you're disagreeing is to support your futile argument.
*sigh* Other than Marquez, who did Bradley beat that was elite? I doubt you could tell me without having to check Boxrec and then when you do, you will see that it's nobody.
Sorry for this Royness. I guess again it seems im back to this not giving in. But im dealing with ridiculous arguments here. Is it best i just comply and not debate at all?
Who did Golovkin beat that's elite? No one, but he's ranked as an elite fighter. Bradley has a solid resumé and has beaten good fighters, and only lost to Pacquiao. He is rightfully ranked as an elite fighter. How about Aaron Pryor? Who did he beat who was elite other than an aging fighter, 2 weight divisions smaller? Yet he is ranked as an elite fighter by pretty much everyone. How about Cotto, do you consider him an elite fighter?
Yep, for me it's basically that simple. If you're not an elite fighter, you get found out long before you reach where those 2 have.
