    To summarise, in Anthony's ping, you have to be top 2 P4P to be an elite fighter. Only Pacquiao and Floyd, and GSP and Silva level fighters are elite, no one else :lol:

    You know what's funny about MWS's argument about being champ = elite? He doesn't Consider Tito or Tsyzu elite fighters despite his standards on what elite is.

    I ain't sure. MMA fighters fight less than boxers and their reigns are shorter since there is only one title. It's hard to compare for me but I would guess that Lawlor is almost at the level in MMA that Froch has been in boxing. Maybe a little lower.

    With only two 1 title defense and his title win arguably could have gone the other way? Also he has not fought guys like Condit, Woodley or Lombard yet?

    Well his title reign is fucking short compared to Froch of course. I guess my elite standards in MMA are smaller.

    I have competed in high level Judo and Jujitsu competitions since the age of 5. I am 33 now.
    Been doing martial arts since i was 3. I have taught classes for Police & fire fighters and other adults for years. I have trained in Brazilian Jujitsu for going on 5 years now. Will be getting my brown Belt soon hopefully.

    I think if i put serious effort into MMA, i could go pro. Not sure i would amount to much, but i think i could get to the stage. WHo knows what happens at the stage. Those guys have top level training from world champs on a 365 day basis. I dont think i could put that work in. I want to travel and be with my family. I dont want to be beaten up.

    Im not sure where this is going tho. You claimed being on top makes you elite.

    So i ask you, is Buster Douglas elite? Arturo Gatti? Zab Judah? Those guys have acomplished just as much if not more than Lawler.

    its takes elite skills to achieve those types of accomplishments my friend. as well as mental fortitude which you could also argue is elite.

    those fighters you listed above are elite fighters to win titles. some are greater than others no doubt. but some dickhead off the street is not going to become a world champion without working to an elite level.
