Underrated or under appreciated performances

DiCaprio is okay, I've never found him to be great... Plus he always looks like a boy dressed up to resemble a man

 

DiCaprio's acting in Titanic was nothing special. No way he deserved a Best Actor nomination for Titanic.

By rights though, he should have 2 Best Awards.

He deserved best actor in 2004 for Aviator, and in 2014 for Wolf of WS.

 

Yeah but for platoon, it was defoe who got all the acclaim. Same for goodfellas... pesci got it all, which is fine. But Liotta ' s performance deserved it too . Although you recognize it made goodfellas, not everyone seemed to. Underrated.

 

Liotta is an underrated actor in general.

 

Yeah, actually if was DeFoe AND Berenger that got all the props. Charlie was kind of left out in the cold even though he carried most of the narrative story line. He was great in Wall Street to, even though Michael Douglas got all the credit for that film. Outside of a couple of comedies, Charlie has kind of sucked in everything else. Oliver Stone seemed to be the only one able to get the most out of him.

 

He was really funny in the Hot Shots movies

 

I agree with Dicaprio's performance being nothing special in Titanic. He didn't get a nomination and rightfully so.

He's a very good actor, but Titanic is far from one of his best performances. In fact their screen chemistry was overrated, I've seen many films with couples with more screen chemistry than those two in Titanic.

 

Delroy lindo as West Indian archie. He out acted denzel imo!

 

GTFOH! He acted very well yes, but out acted Denzel? You must be mad. Denzel was on fire as Malcolm X.

 

He is. He is a very good actor, terrific in Goodfellas. I love Liotta when he does his "freak-out" rants.

Big Delroy blew him off the screen! And acted better than him on it.

 

good call. saw that movie when it first came out, and the first thing you think is, what a fucking performance
