    Rigo-Loma or Kov-Ward?

The good news is, IMO Kov-Ward WILL happen in 2016. Loma-Rigo? Who knows if that happens.

By rights though, if these two matchups DO happen in 2016, then the winners should be considered the two best P4P.

I'd rather see Rigo-Loma. That's the #1 fight to be made in boxing right now. Kov-Ward isn't far behind though.

Probably Kovalev-Ward as I think the Lomachenko-Rogondeaux one can sit on the shelf for longer and still be interesting if not better given more time.

Ward-Kov is a more important fight as it'll essentially establish who's the most accomplished light heavy of our era. And historically speaking, the lightheavyweight divsion is simply seen as a more important division than featherweight.

Now, Roy was a better fighter than both Ward and Kov, and Roy would have beaten Ward and Kov, BUT.... Roy never beat or faced anyone at 175 as good as Kov or Ward.

Ward is already a HOFmer. As ugly as his style is, he's already accomplished enough to warrant a HOF spot, and he's already in the "very good" category. A win over Kov, and he's cemented himself to be called great, IMO.

Conversely, if Kov wins, he becomes a HOF lock, and cements himself as a great light heavy.

So, it's a more important fight than Rigo-Loma, even though, Rigo-Loma is a more compelling style matchup.

Can't say that's surprising. TR wants Loma and Crawford to be the future stars of the sport. Can't risk that against Rigo.

    Shame....

I think Loma and Rigo are both better fighters than Kov and Ward. That's no slight on Kov and Ward, I just think they're both THAT good. Time will tell I guess.

I think it's more debatable when it comes to Loma and Kov.

I agree that Rigo is better than Ward. And Ward is actually underrated. But Rigo is clearly more talented - he has better reflexes, and has the one thing Ward lacks - big pop.

With Loma and Kov..... ehhh, is Loma really better than Kov? Loma seems like the classic jack of all trades. Good power, but not devastating power. Very quick, but not blinding speed. Excellent timing and skills, but he has no one SPECIAL asset, as opposed to Kov who has RARE power to go with his skills. Is Kov as good as technician than Loma? Not quite, but perhaps his power makes up for that. To me, Kov outboxing Hopkins, even an ancient Hopkins, is more impressive than outboxing Russell Jr.

Loma's skills and footwork are his biggest asset. A lot of his skills and moves are very subtle yet brilliant. Not that Kov isn't skilled, I agree with you that his boxing ability is very underrated. I just feel if they were the same size Loma would win.

I'm not confident of that. Loma gets hit, and everybody who Kov's been able to find has been fucked. Loma has yet to face a single puncher either.

^^^THAT bum is in the HOF. Don't act like it takes a lot to get there.

If Kovalev were to beat Ward, I assure you, he'll be a HOFmer.

That win alone will put him far ahead of guys like Gatti, Mancini, Brian Mitchell, McGugian, ect who are in the Hall.

Kovalev vs. a fat Cotto, fat Canelo or a fat GGG will suffice

Let's be very frank, it's easier for an undeserving white fighter to make the HOF than an undeserving black fighter.

How many black fighters are in the HOF that are questionable as opposed to how many questionable white fighters?

How else can you explain why a legitimately great fighter like Curry who unified the division and beat quality fighters isn't in the HOF, yet entertaining white guys like Mancini, and McGugian, who were very good fighters but not great ones, are in the Hall.

Curry, DeJesus, Valdez are obvious snubs... the fact that none of them is in when the institution is such a joke is outrageous
