Honestly, there's NATHAN the Least Bit Funny about the Unequivocal CON JOB Floyd is Pulling on Hardcore Boxing Fans... REED:baa:
bottom line here is mayweather jr got showtime to accept berto as the opponent. he is probably the cheapest available guy they'd accept. then you factor in his guarantee of 30+ million. whether the fight sells enough ppvs to break even or not he is getting paid that. then you must consider a guy like khan would command 2 or 3 times what berto is getting purse wise. would khan sell that many more ppvs than berto to justify this? would he even approach selling enough PPVs to where mayweather jr would get more than his guarantee?

Amir Khan's a BIGGER Draw than Andre Berto, Dude...No, Khan COULDN'T Headline an American PPV, but he Easily Could Overseas (& that Audience Would ALSO Buy Khan-Mayweather)...Berto Couldn't Headline a PPV Anywhere and has NO Fan Base to Speak Of, to Assist with PPV #'s... If/When this PPV Tanks, the Result will Be the MILLIONS of Disenchanted Fans who Paid $100+ for the Pacquiao SPARRING Session/ TRACK MEET...Hence, the Lowered Cost of $64.95, or Whatever it Is...The ONLY Reason this Shit will Be PPV is Because Showtime is BOUND Contractually, to Produce 1 Last PPV Fight to Floyd... If Not for that, this Bullshit WOULD Be on an NBC Televised "Premiere Boxing Champions" Card, like it DESERVES to Be... REED:hammert:
Yeah, but Today, Berto HAVE LOSSES...When Ortiz Beat Berto he Didn't Have LOSSES... Say What You Wish about Victor Ortiz, but Floyd Mayweather is Facing Victor Ortiz (& Robert Guerrero) LEFTOVERS...On Fucking PPV, No Less...Even as a Certified Floyd DICKSUCKER, you Cannot Be Happy w/this Matchup...It's Bad Enough Floyd Gave Justin Beiber YOUR Spot as the "Token White Guy" of TMT... Now THIS???... REED:hammert:
Im pretty happy about the matchup. already booked to go. Now ill be able to get in to the fight for cheap. probably between 100-200 dollars. good undercard and the main event will be an entertaining beatdown.
well it would be on CBS, since viacom owns both it and showtime. i read where mayweather jr was the one who demanded it be on ppv. i think that there will be some backlash from the previous fight and cause less ppl to buy his ppv, whether it be vs khan, berto or whoever. showtime will have to take the hit here and hope he returns to the network for his next fight
it wont. we'll see how badly it does. my guess is between 600k-750k. anything above that is good news for showtime. is berto that much worse of a foe than algieri was for pacquiao?
Really???.... How Many "T.B.E." Hats have YOU Seen Pac Rocking, OR, How Many Times has Pac Referred to HIMSELF as "The Face of Boxing"???...When's the Last Time Pac Used "Losses" as a Reason NOT to Fight a Perceived Threat???...Was Pac-Algieri COMICLY Advertised as "Pac's LAST Fight", as Floyd-Berto CERTAINLY Will???... Not Sure how DEFLECTING To Manny Pacquiao HELPS Floyd's Case... REED:dunno:
I'm not really sure what problem you have here. I like the fight and will pay to watch it. You don't. Then don't watch. End of story. You watched plenty of his other fights which will end up being more boring with just as little chance of an upset than this coming bout. I'm not really worried about merchandise or what the guy says. I like the matchup just as I liked when he fought cotto and ppl shitted on it. Style wise it will be entertaining.
I don't see this as an entertaining fight. Berto is shorter and has a shorter reach. The minute he leaps in he's getting countered. I don't care either way. I won't pay nor will I bother watching...bar an upset. I sat through the Pacquaio fight only because I went out to see it. Prior to that the last time I watched a Mayweather fight was the Cotto fight. All the bullshit in between didn't bother with the replay let alone purchasing it.
thats fine but i can guarantee you reed has seen every mayweather jr fight since he beat genaro hernandez
REED Can Also GUARANfuckingTEE He WON'T Be Ordering this PPV... The ONLY Bit of Intrigue is Errol Spence Being on the Undercard...After the Mayweather-Pac DEBACLE, Few if Any Restaurants/Sports Bars will Want to Host Mayweather-Berto, Which Means it's STREAM or BUST for REED... & for the 1st Time EVER, as it Pertains to Floyd, REED is 100% COOL w/That...If REED Misses the Fight ENTIRELY, as it's Happening, Oh the Hell Well...Showtime will Replay it 7 Days Later... REED:hammert:
Let's face it. Mayweather will be remembered as an extremely cautious matchmaker, extremely cautious defensive boring FIGHTER, handpicking his opponents, only fighting when he is assured he'll win. There will be many FIGHTERs considered elite in his resume, but you can make case after case, he fought them at the right time. He didn't fight or beat Pacquaio. He waited 5 years, then he ran, hugged, clinched, then ran some more. The guy is a good defensive FIGHTER who doesn't give a damn about the fans, he does care about his rep, and the guy is hated booed everywhere he goes. Usually when a great athlete exits the stage, he is revered, appreciated with a lot of emotion and thankfulness for entertaining us over the years. Floyd, on the other hand, people couldn't care less...majority wants to see him exit the sport.
This... HURRYthefuckUP and RETIRE...Legitimately; Not the Faux "Retirement's" After the Hatton Fight, Nor the "Last Fight" BULLSHIT You'll Undoubtedly Sell to Mainstream Fans for the Berto PPV... REED
you can argue that mayweather jr didnt fight some guys while they were at their absolute peak. fact is however, if you look at who is currently considered the 10 or 20 best fighters on the planet right now, mayweather jr has beat several of them.
This is a legitimate superfight. Berto is a young hungry lion, outside of Floyd he's the best welterweight on the planet, bar none. This is the Leonard-Hearns of our generation.
