As long as we're talking the circa 94-00 Jones, I'd pick him pretty confidently. Moorer was given Hell at 175 by guys not a fraction as good as Roy. Moorer had explosive power, and very fast hands, but his footwork was pretty ponderous and he had to be set to punch. Against a prime Jones, I think Roy is just too plain fast to let him get set to punch.
Moorer never fought anyone worth even 1/3 of a shit at 175 ... I have a feeling if he had, we would have seen some of the same limitations that plagued him at heavyweight
Roy Would Need to be VERY Cautious Early. AVOIDING Exchanges (As Opposed to ENGAGING In them and Getting CAUGHT by Another Hard Punching, SOUF' Paw like Tarver), Playing it SAFE Until Moorer's Aggression and Stamina Dips... Then, Roy Would Outclass Moorer Down the Stretch...Roy by 8-4, 7-5ish UD...Potentially DANGEROUS Moments Early, w/Roy Grabbing a FIRMER Foothold on the Bout, as it Progresses... REED:hammert:
