I think this fight has distance written all over it. Neither one is a big hitter at 126. At 122 I woulda taken SC, but he looks pretty damn ordinary at 126. I think Mares is the bit more versatile of the two, and I think he'll outpoint SC.

Imagine SC walks into the ring, and they've pulled a bait and switch, and instead The Jackal is on the other side of the ring.

At 122 mares wins for sure by ko imo. At 126 this should be a pretty fucking exciting fight with some real good exchanges. Thing is, with the crappy competition SC has faced, I think he has been lulled into a false sense of security that he can just bore in and unload with slow combinations. Mares will counter that. Wouldn'the be surprised at all to find SC on his back momentarily and then him the one who is gunshy.

Hopefully Mares Wins, Because he Seems like he'd Be More Willing to JUMP on a "Money" Fight, @ This Stage of his Career...

Team Santa Cruz has Clearly Been More SELECTIVE w/their Matchmaking...

Santa Sloth is going nowhere near the likes of Loma, Walters, or even Russell Jr.

I think he'd fight Russell Jr if he wins. the other two are top rank and nicholas welters is not even a featherweight

IF he gets past Mares, I think Russell Junior will beat the living shit outta him. Russell Junior couldn't handle a top-notch technician like Loma, but SC is made to order for him. He'd be way too fast for Santa Sloth.

Mares stopped ponce. An oversized broner couldn't even do that. So don't say he can't stop SC.

Mares is shot. He looked terrible in his last fight and talks like he's trying to convince himself he's a top fighter. That light punching Mexican guy he fought last time gave him a tough fight. Santa Cruz stops him I think. Donaire Walters type fight. One guy shot, the other guy not that good but tough and strong and mentally superior. Mares will wilt under the pressure and lsc will really be up for this

I'm sticking with my guns and still taking Mares. I don't really like either one though, so I'll be happy whichever takes a beating.

I think Santa Cruz will be too active and Mares won't be sharp enough to take advantage. Then again SC never really fought anybody so he could fall apart in a competitive fight. I'll still take him by decision but should be good. A dominant win for SC would legitimize him and a dominant win for Mares puts him back at elite status considering where he was. I don't think either are that great at 126 tho.

The last sentence is correct. Neither is an elite fighter at 126.

I'd take Marriaga to stop both.

On 1 Hand, REED's Digging the Mainstream Loooove this Bout is Getting, Being Televised by ESPN...On the Other Hand, an Idiot ESPN Commentator Pronounced Mares' Name as "Mars", when an Ad Popped Up During the Little League World Series...Is Saying the Fighter's Names CORRECTLY Toooooooooooooooooooo Much to Ask???...

As for Predictions, REED Likes Mares by Late TKO or UD...

    Ehhhh, who gives a shit?

If you wanna talk about a truly dead sport, talk baseball.

Boxing is currently more popular in the mainstream than MLB.
