Would Ginger have lasted the distance?

He might since being 170 pounds is beneficial when the guy beating the ever-loving hell out of you weighs 15 pounds less

I'm not sure how much that helps him considering Leonard displayed the firepower to take out naturally larger men than Ginger.

It didn't help Geale when he out weighed Cotto by 15-20 pounds and still got blasted early.

Plus, give Leonard a 30-hr weigh-in of today and it's likely he comes in around 160 for a junior middle fight.

How Geale have done if he didn't have the extra 15-20?

Being 160+ doesn't make Ray Leonard a better fighter... He was a better fighter lighter

It does help him take whatever paltry amount that Ginger manages to land, he wouldn't need it though just as Mayweather didn't need it

Ray Leonard and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fought in two different eras.

Leonard via late rounds stoppage on punch accumulation. Ginger would just get hit too much, and even with 170 pounds, I could see Leonard shaking him bad with that hook.

To do that you don't actually have to fight Canelo though

The odds for xplosive opening a thread in this forum are already pretty low but for this one you might have gotten -10000 or something...
