IN THE NAAAAME OF JESUS WE PRAY!
    AMEN.
Straight without a Condom repeated its dominance at the domestic box office for third week in a row with $13.2 million in the lowest grossing weekend of the year . That came to no surprise as the three new releases didn’t look on paper to pose any threat to the N.W.A. biopic which has grossed so far $134.1 million. It opened in 8 markets overseas grossing over $6.5 million of which $3.9 million was from the UK and $2.2 million from Germany which means that the film bombed in the other six countries it debuted. No surprise here either as not everybody in other countries knows who NWA were.

What was a surprise was the totally unexpected great performance of the Christian film War Room. The low budget film went completely under the radar with practically no ad campaign, but on Friday it was beating ‘Compton’ on ticket sales. In fact it could had taken the top spot this weekend if it only was released on more screens than it did (only a fraction of ‘Compton’ screens in comparison). The Faith-Based film took the second spot with $11 million which is the second best opening ever for these kind of films, second only to last year’s “Heaven is For Real". Sony distributed the $3 million film under is Tri-Star/Affirm which could finish its run with close to $45 million.
M.I. Rogue Nation was pushed to the third spot by ‘War Room’ and added $8.3 million for a current 5 weeks domestic total of $170.3 million.

In the fourth spot the Owen Wilson/Pierce Brosnan political action-thriller No Escape debuted to $8.3 million, just slightly under its $9.3 million predicted gross.

In the 5th spot Sinister 2 continues under-performing with a weekend gross of $4.7 million for total cumulative of $18.5 million.

Oh, I almost forgot about Zac Efron’s newest bomb: the musical drama We Are Your Friends did not found any friends to support it and crash landed in 14 spot at the tune of $1.8 million which, playing in 2,333 screens, takes the prize as the lowest grossing film debut ever to open in that many screens (if only theater chain owners had given half of those screens to ‘War Room’!). Which again, brings the question: why studios keep giving Zac Efron leading roles when the guy has the longest string of flops in recent memory? I mean, ‘High School Musical’ was after all a tv movie and that one was in, what, 2007?

In other disturbing news, Terminator Genisys surpassed the $400 million mark in worldwide grosses thanks to its China box office cume of $89.7 million in just 8 days. While the film was a monumental flop in the USA and was doing mild business abroad, its spectacular performance in China has become a game changer and turned the apparent bomb into a bonafide hit. In fact, the China final grosses will become higher than the USA total run (currently at $89.3 million on its ninth week and grossing only a few hundred dollars in the 28th spot). This a very rare case where an apparent domestic bomb earns over $400 million globally. In fact, as it stands right now, the film has earned MORE than T2: Judgment Day. More scary: when this turkey surpasses, and it will, the $443 million of T3: Rise of The Machines it will become THE HIGHEST GROSSING FILM OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!!!

DAMN YOU MAO TSE TUNG!!!! :pissed:

    Arnold is all smiles today...

That probably spells the end of Efron's career.
