In terms of handspeed, rank the 10 fastest guys in history. Obviously, taking into account prime versions of each guy. Here's how I'd rank them:

    1. Jones - This one goes without question. Only guy in history who's hands were so fast that they literally made your jaw drop.

    2. Camacho - Probably the only guy who has an argument over Jones. At 130-135 Camacho's handspeed was other-worldly.

    3. Leonard - Pretty self explanatory. At 147 Leonard's handspeed was a sight to behold. I put him above Taylor because he committed more to his combinations than Taylor while still maintaining speed.

    4. Taylor - Again, pretty self explanatory. I know a lot rank Taylor #1 all time in handspeed. I would disagree with that, but still, Taylor had remarkable handspeed.

    5. Ali - Never again will there by a 6'3, 215 pound man as fast as Ali.

    6. Tyson - I dunno, I debate this one all the time. I almost feel as though Tyson had faster hands than Ali. It's DAMN CLOSE honestly. Still, to me Tyson holds the distinction along with Robinson as the best blend of speed and power in history.

    7. Mosley - Amongst lightweights, only Camacho had faster hands than Shane (perhaps an argument for Howard Davis). And amongst weltweights, only Leonard was faster. Yes, he was one dimensional outside of his speedy slugger ways. But my God, what fast hands.

    8. Floyd Patterson - Outside of Ali and Tyson, the fastest handed heavyweight of all time. Really, pretty comparable to them in terms of handspeed. Patterson's handspeed was unreal.

    9. Hearns - Probably the most underrated handspeed of all time. People talk about the jab, and the legendary cross. But nobody ever discusses how amazingly fuckin FAST his hands were. Fastest handed junior middleweight of all time.

    10. Judah - By FAAAARRRRRR the most inferior fighter on this list, but still doesn't change the fact that he had unbelievably fast hands in his prime.

Honorable mentions - Pac, Howard Davis, Terry Norris, Ray Robinson, Bob Foster, Michael Nunn

I'd have Ali above Camacho & Leonard, personally.

Khan doesn't belong in the top 10, but if there was a top 20 list he'd be on it. But no, I don't see him having faster hands than the 10 guys I listed.

PFP is all about "Recency" and "Recently" I doubt Camacho has been showing very little speed.

    Props on the Hearns Mention....

During their 1st Bout, Hearns' Handspeed Appeared to Be On Par w/, or Even Slightly QUICKER than Leonard's...In Terms of SINGLE Shots, Anyways...

"Motor City Cobra" was as APT a Nickname as "Hitman" was, Because Hearns Struck in SWIFT, DEADLY Fashion...

Yup. As I said, most underrated handspeed ever. Probably cause he was soooooo known for the power. People fail to realize that one reason his cross was so devastating was because how fast it was delivered.

Bob Foster is in the same boat as Hearns. Foster also had wicked handspeed, which is overlooked because of his power.

I think I should have probably placed Gamboa on the list. Borderline top 10. At 126, Gamboa had the fastest hands we've seen since Roy and Shane got old.

And I probably should have made Pryor an honorable mention. Pryor's hands were EXTREMELY fast.

Benitez and Floyd were more QUICK than they were fast. For example, Floyd and Benitez were QUICKER handed than Mel Taylor, but Taylor was faster.

Other guys besides Floyd and Benitez who were extremely quick - Whitaker, Laguna, Rigo.

If you watch some old Laguna fights, that guy had the quickest lead right I've ever seen. It looked quicker than Floyd's.

Quickness is more to do with speed on the trigger and reaction time. Some guys I listed, such as Jones, we're both amazingly quick AND fast. Whereas Taylor was super fast when he let his hands go, yet he didn't pull the trigger as QUICK as Floyd or Benitez.

One reason I say Floyd would have never beaten Leonard is what you saw in Leonard vs Benitez. Bentez quickness was nullified by the fact that Leonard had both faster hands than Will, and reacted and pulled the trigger just as quickly.

    I think I know X means.

Taylor's speed was noticeable especially when he punched combinations in 3s and 4s. Similar to Pac and Camacho I'd say.

Leonard is the type of guy that BEATS you to the punch. His mind is just that quick with his thinking and instincts.

I don't think it's absurd that you mentioned Floyd and Benitez though. Whatever way you slice it, both had very fast hands.

One guy I've seen mentioned a lot by younger fans is Joe Calzaghe, but I try telling them that Joe was just more that herky jerky style and relentless punching. Definitely not a slow handed fighter, but not what I consider BLAZING speed.

Junior Jones despite his flaws had pretty fast hands. Barrera had absolutely NO ANSWER for those straight right hands down the middle.

Calzaghe did have fast hands dude, especially when he was younger. He doesn't belong on this list but make no mistake about it, he had very good handspeed

Yeah, Cocaine Joe had fast hands, no denying that. Still, had he faced Jones in 99 instead of 09, Roy woulda made him look like he was fighting under water.

Yeah, if you watch him against Eubank when he was young, he was very fast. PR simply said he wasn't blazing fast, which is a subjective word. But I take blazing fast to mean Camacho, Jones, Mosley, Leonard type fast. Joe didn't have THAT type of speed.

P4P, bum ass Khan has faster hands than Joe had. Obviously though, Joe was a better fighter than Khan by 2 light years, but Khan has faster hands.

Yeah that's fair. To be honest I misread PR's post this morning as it was quite early so that's my bad

I watched the Eubank fight again last week actually and even I was shocked at how quick he was. Again, not in the Jones or Leonard league but still very fast. He'd slowed down a fair bit by the Kessler fight but was still quick and had become a smarter fighter by that point.

Agreed on Khan too, Khan was faster but Joe was the much better fighter.
