    Not at all shocking.

I had had heard that even ticket sales weren't what they wanted so this was expected.

Friends of mine who usually order the rights didn't order this one and I ended up going to a sports bar to watch it.

I watched the fight at my neighbor's house (he is a die-hard Floyd nuthugger) who invited us, since his usual sports buddies passed on this one, but honestly I didn't wanted to watch it since I knew it was going to be a 12 rounds stinker. My wife forced me to go and 'be social' Well, at least the undercard fights were entertaining, but I had a hard time staying awake during the main event. Even my neighbor admitted the fight was dull.

In the article it states that the arena did not sold out and the promoters gave away free tickets to fill seats.

Months ago before the Floyd\Pac fight, I said if that fight was a dud, it would have a huge negative impact on boxing as a PPV sport, and I was bashed for it. But it looks like that is exactly what's happening.

Personally, I think boxing as a whole is better without Mayweather, but we shall see.

still trying to get my head around how a guy who's never been in an exciting fight in his life became the sports biggest ppv superstar.

Right now it only has a big impact on Mayweather as a draw but I think it can also be interpreted as it has to be an even fight for it to generate huge May-Pac like numbers.

The only reason people want to watch mayweather fight is to possibly see him lose. You remove that possibility by putting him in with an opponent like berto and of course people will not buy. I usually buy every ppv they throw at me. But I had very little trouble not buying this one.

I wish BOTH Mayweather and Pacquiao would retire.

This will actually FORCE guys to fight each other now.

Don't try to lump pacquiao in with pbf. Pbf is the problem.

No shit. Floyd comes off an easy win over Pacquiao in a fight everyone paid big $ for and felt like they didn't get their money's worth.

Then Floyd follows it up with an opponent who provides almost no intrigue a few months later. Who was surprised when this fight was going to be non-ppv? Nobody.

This has nothing to do with Floyd's ppv drawing ability. Even Tyson couldn't fight McNeeley on ppv.

Showtimes gotta be somewhat to blame. I saw zero marketing for this bout. I mean there were a few half assed PPV commercials on TV but nothing like they have done in the past. Seemed like there was no build-up at all. I was actually a little shocked on the Friday before, I saw a headline and didn't even realize the Mayweather/Berto bout was the next night.

I think they were still busy counting their money from the Pac fight, and gave zero fucks worrying about this one. Just finish out the Floyd contract and wash their hands of the whole thing.

Do you typically feel bad for giant corporations with more money then most countries GDP? This was nothing but a 3rd quarter write-off for those motherfuckers. Help balance the books on the gains made in the PAC fight.

But what else would they expect? He couldn't even stop an undersized Marquez. With Floyd, you know what your gonna get. He's not gonna score any KOs or give fighters a beating anymore. It's just not him.

Anybody who paid money for that, most likely got what they expected, and deserved.
