I'm looking forward to this one. Pressure fighting puncher vs powerful slugger. Both have similar KO %. Will be fun. Gotta go with Golovkin but his chin will be tested in this one.
I'm looking forward to it also. I can't help but think that Golov takes him out in under 6 rounds, but hey, 5-6 explosive rounds are better than 12 boring rounds.
I'm thinking GGG in 6 rounds also. Lemieux seems very confident though and he's coming to try to knock GGG out. It could be a classic.
Really looking forward to this one as well. We know something is going to happen the moment the bell rings. It's not going to be two guys throwing out pawing jabs working out the distance. What makes it potentially so exciting could also be it's undoing as there's a pretty decent chance it could end in the very first round if they are both thinking knockout.
I like GGG in this one...it'll go 6 or 7 if LePeux has a chin. If he doesn't it won't last long. I think LePeux will come out aggressive, feel the power then try to box. That's the only way I see him going 6 or 7 rounds. I don't think he has great stamina.
My Spidey sense tells me that Golovkin will get staggered/dropped (by a left hook) in this fight before coming back to win by KO. We'll see what he's made of in this one.
It's possible because LeMoo can crack, and Golov's chin has yet to receive a legit test. But my feeling is at BEST LeMoo buzzes him. My HEART wants this to be a competitive, back-and-forth slugfest. But my head says it's gonna be a one sided beatdown.
its a decent walk out fight after the real main event between two world class proven performers. Lemieux aint on the level of the other 3 guys involved
Triple G just had a commercial on Thursday Night Football, shadowboxing to the tune of ODB's Shimmy Shimmy Ya while wearing an Apple Watch
That was him?? I thought it look like that mejican texan olympian boxer that reed spoke about a few years agog...
Welll I guess it's him....maybe I wasn't watching carefully enough but the commercial I saw didn't show his fac.e..
I'm beginning to lean towards Lemieux by KO. He just seems so confident, hits even harder than GGG (IMO), and GGG is hittable. Having said that though I can also see this thing going the distance. Initially I was all GGG but after closer inspection of their styles (which is how you're supposed to analyze fights) I'm not so sure. It's a tough fight to make a pick.
I want GGG to win, make no mistake. Even though Lemieux is Canadian. GGG win is better for boxing. But I can't shake the idea out of my head of the upset, I can see Lemiueux' aggressive bullish style getting the better of GGG down the stretch for some reason. Logic says GGG, but gut is leaning towards the upset KO. I'll make up my mind by next week and make a final pick.
Who do y'all think's going to be the aggressor? Perhaps both. This may be a toe to toe Corrales-Castillo affair.
I agree. Given GGG height advantage he will "box" and hbo will call it a clinic. And the new word will be, "not only can he punch but he is a brilliant boxer too." Wow. Cannot believe I am thinking so cynically about a fight I am looking forward to. That is what hbo has managed to do.
Conventional wisdom would agree with you yes. However I was watching the GGG steven's fight, and GGG was getting hit a lot in that fight, especially with left hooks. In fact one hook froze him for a moment or too. Lemieux' left hook is fast, accurate and deceptive...plus it packs serious heat. I'm not so sure on this matchup anymore, me tells ya!
I think that GGG was purposely letting him tag him in that fight. I think he was trying to prove a point
