I'll definitely watch that one. It'll be interesting to see how Brook deals with Chaves as compared to Thurman and Timmy the head.

    I agree.

This will tell us a bit more about Brook. If he wins, hopefully a name fighter is next for him.

Be interesting to see p4p Brook in only his second fight with a remotely capable opponent. And mind you, Chaves is a step down from Porter. This guy may be the most overrated fighter in the sport right now. Not sure why anyone even cares wtf he is doing at this point.

    Brook would defeat Cherry Garcia.

He'd give Garcia a pretty good beating, to be honest.

Garcia would have no answers for that quick right hand.

its rare to see a guy get so much mileage out of getting his ass beat as chaves did from the thurman fight. 3 more paydays after that. zero wins

And now he will be the second best guy on p4p brook's resume.

Whoa! You're getting ahead of yourself with me. Cause in my book, Brook is NOT a top 10 P4P fighter.

P4p is now brook's nick name. It is like calling a fatty, Tiny .

I've never agreed more completely with Double than I have right here. This is BY MILES the second best opponent on Brook's resume. A guy who has won one of his last four fights.

For a guy with one credible win in 35 fights, Brook sure is amassing a fine theoretic resume at this point. Garcia now added to the list of fighters Brook has been absolutely nowhere near in his 11 year professional career that he would nonetheless 'give a beating'.

    I base it off styles.

I think Garcia thrives when his opponent comes TO HIM. It allows him to work the counter punching which he is most comfortable with and it's the very reason he did so well against the likes of Khan and Matthyssee.

Peterson gave him movement and made Garcia come to him.

I think Brook being faster, punches straighter, and with his ability to set distance would make Garcia have to be aggressive and in doing so he'd catch him repeatedly. I don't think Garcia would be able to deal with that for 12 rounds.

    Just my two cents.

brook seems solid, not as good as the ring magazine has him ranked, not as bad as meetthefeebles claims

Part of me thinks this could be a tough ride for Brook, but I'm not so sure. I think Hearn has got Chaves in at the right time for Brook to look very good against. I think he's seen the Bradley and Thurman fights and thought Chaves is a good name, with minimal risk of losing to him. Hearn is a smart cunt. He won't risk, what is now his prized asset (after Froch's retirement), losing to a guy like Chaves. Even better for Hearn is that this will be shown across the pond.

My gut feeling tells me Brook dominates and stops Chaves mid rounds as Hearn has a wank over Brook ringside.

Yup. Exactly. Double acts as if I'm some Brook groupie calling him a great fighter. I'm not a fan AT ALL, and he sure as Hell isn't a P4P fighter. But with Floyd retired, no other welter is really anything special accept for potentially Spence. Therefore, Brook has a good shot at beating a guy like Garcia, Bradley, or Thurman. And he'd have to be clearly favored over Khan.

I'd pick Spence to beat Brook, however.

Khan is underrated a little around here. All'a'y'all act as though everyone would KO Khan. I even read that Provo would KO Khan. Khan is vulnerable to punches, no doubt, but we can't forget that he survived Maidana. You never know with that Pakistani. You can't underestimate him.

Same. Would love to see an eventual showdown between them within the next couple of years.

I'm just eager for these guys to start getting matched up already. There's some good match ups to be made.

Actually, Joshua is Hearn's prized asset, not Brook.

It's absurd to call Khan overrated when he was and still is one of the most overhyped fighters in the sport.

I was just correcting myself on my previous post. Still, Brook isn't losing to a guy like Chaves. It could be an ugly affair but I think Hearn has got Chaves in knowing Brook will look very good against him and what's good for them is the fight will be aired on U.S TV.

Brook is in the top 10 p4p Ring rankings. Therefore, he is severely overrated given how little he has accomplished. I am simply pointing that out.

Who gives a shit about the Ring? They have zero credibility in 2015. They could have Canelo at #1 for all I care.

Nobody on this forum would dare rank Brook in the top 10 p4p.

Well you have crawford at 7, which is absurd.

You mean more than 7 fighters who have more proven success than crawford?

Crawford beat a talented lightweight in gamboa. That's about it. And Gamboa, despite his obvious talent, had not done much himself recently, and exactly zero at 140.

    Let crawford accomplish something.

Garcia dominated the fight while Pederson was running.
