Beasts of No Nation - Trailer/Discussion - A netflix original film

That looks like a very intense drama. Looking forward to its premiere. :bears:

I don't 'get on' with Africans....

(African-Americans / Caribbeans are fine though)

 

I don't exactly get on with the KKK or Nazis' but at the same time I don't boycott films that feature them.

 

Ugh what a disappointment. This was abort viewing material but unfortunately I stuck with it the whole way thinking it would get better. It wasn't that it was a bad film as the pacing, acting, and direction was all fine. The problem is the story just wasn't very interesting at all which had a direct impact on making the dialogue uninteresting as well. This was a story that really didn't need to be told. I mean it was horrible and tragic but that doesn't mean it's movie material. I'd advise all to pass on this one. 5/10.

 

One of the year's best films! Intense, shocking, brutal, cruel, heartbreaking...will stay with you for many days after watching it. Edris Elba is magnificent here. Great film! 9/10

 

Holy fuck just watched this... Awesome!! Super intense.. And Idris was amazing.. I dont even know who he is but it was a masterpiece. Unbelievable charisma. Im not really into Africa movies either but this was on another level. 9/10. Will watch again soon, and likely again after that. Maybe the story was 'uninteresting' (i thought it was good) but this movie was all about the acting, directing, drama, very cerebral. Dont miss it.

 

I started watching this.....but it just wasn't very good...didn't hold my interest....or maybe it was the mood I was in at the time....I will restart it later on...

 

What part did you get to? At least try to get to the machete scene (close to 1 hour in i think), to give it an honest chance. If still not working then probably just not for you...

 

I don't remember...at what time I stop watching...I think the kid had met with String...and they had him carrying their stuff....or whatever...
