Lol. Believe that if you want to. Curry would have knocked Pac out. Pac's two best career performances came against fellow midgets in Hatton, and Cotto. Curry had a big height edge over Pac, was naturally a much bigger man, and Pac jumping in against Curry gets him countered and KO'd.
Everyone points to that version. McCrory was a mediocre fighter who was made to order for Curry. Pac was perpetual motion for 12 rounds, speed, power, stamina, southpawedness. Aggression Aggression Aggression. That tender sweetheart couldn't handle that for 12 rounds.
Thing is, I think Curry was a better counter puncher than Marquez. Faster, more accurate, and definitely more powerful. I'm not so sure I can visualize Manny coming through that fire to do what he'd have to do to give himself a chance to win this fight. Curry's left hook on a smaller man like Pacquiao means bad things for Manny I think. And Curry would land first I think.
Pac looked masterful in 09 part because the two guys he beat up were tailor made for him. Hatton, and Cotto - two midgets with alligator arms, neither one ever known for their brilliant counterpunching or handspeed. Pac was simply too quick and dynamic for them. Curry was a different kettle of fish, and tbh his welterweight resume is far better than Manny's. Curry had the length and reach to trouble Manny, and the handspeed and counterpunching ability to capitalize on the many mistakes Manny makes. I wish have zero faith in Manny holding up to Curry's power. Curry was simply a better welter than Manny, and your whole deal of hating on Curry just because he was gay is pretty tired and ignorant.
I'm just kidding with the "fag" thing. A fighter's sexuality is irrelevant to me, I just like having fun with it. Curry was a good fighter and certainly highly skilled. I just question his fortitude (due in part because pf the Honeyghan and McCallum fights, obviously) and a man like Pacquiao will test it. Plus Pacquiao is faaaaaaast, doesn't tire and throws a million punches. Marquez knocked him out but that was an aberration. McCall and Rahman both knocked out Lennox Lewis, but Lewis hung tough with other guys that punched much harder than those two. Boxing is a funny game.
I hear what you're saying...but I question Curry's toughness. McCrory wasn't able to test that...Pacquiao would.
I think curry would probably ko him at some point but it's certainly not a given and (peak/prime) pac might even pile some rounds up before then
Size doesn't matter with Pacquiao. Curry was a little tender...cocks up the ass would do that to a fella.
Size matters a lot considering Curry was a lot taller than Floyd, and Manny looked like a midget jumping in against Floyd. It matters because Hatton and Cotto were too slow and short to exploit Manny's defensive holes, and Curry behind his solid jab and great counterpunching was made to exploit those weaknesses.
PAC may have looked good in those fights. But give pbf credit! He is taller and naturally bigger than pac and he made a career out of fighting alligator arms. If it wasn't Carlos Hernandez or Goya Vargas it was Hatton . Pbf's defense sure did work good against those midgets. Should call him the midget slayer.
