Yeah Colon just doesn't appear to have the heart to make it in this sport. He's got athleticism and some pop but little else. Similar to Victor Ortiz.
He showed more heart than his corner. He's just too sloppy a boxer and not heavy handed enough of a puncher.
He didn't show any fuckin heart! He milked a rabbit punch more than any other fighter I've ever seen at a point where Williams CLEARLY had him in trouble. I had only ever seen him before when he beat up the corpse that used to be Vivian Harris. He's shit.
Yeah that was embarassing. He'll never live that down. Some of these young fighters just aren't built for the sport. Colon is in that mode. Always looking towards the ref anytime it got rough inside, pulled tricks to get breaks everytime he was hurt, and it just didn't appear that he wanted anymore of Williams after a few rounds. He's a kid who's just not cut out for this.
Williams rolled around in the exact same way, got up and threw gang signs, then rolled around some more. Lol. He fought back well after that but he got beat up. Ortiz wouldn't have kept fighting.
nice scores on the peterson fight. as far as colon, what is it with puerto rican fighters? its almost uncanny how more than a few have strategically landed flush, hard low blows while they were hurt
Come on, now. Trinidad was not that badly hurt against Vargas, and the low blow he landed was borderline. The low blow in the 3rd round prior was worse. Again, assuming that's what your talking about. :dunno:

I've seen him fight 3 times, including today. He looked like he had potential to me, though I must admit that KOing Vivian Harris at this point means nothing. Can't teach guts. Either ya got it or ya don't.
Cotto did land a shit load of low blows against Judah. But I don't recall him ever being in real trouble either.

My apologies to Colon for questioning that rabbit punch. Turns out that his corner probably saved his life. Had he gone out for the 10th he likely would be dead right now. Hope he pulls through.
He was complaining about being hit in the back of the head the whole fight even when it didn't seem to be happening, so it may have been a less noticeable punch that started it. Getting hit square on the back of the head while he was already hurt and fatigued couldn't have helped. I was surprised he was able to win a round or two afterwards. The last kd was kind of behind the ear as well.
