GGG still hasn't fought anyone as good as Pavlik....hell he hasn't fought anyone as good as Taylor... So we need to see more of GGG....n 30+ fight deep resume...
Pavlik was too "hitable" and wasn't a versatile boxer. Much bigger than GGG but the difference in talent would nullify that. GGG by clear decision.
Pavlik would have lasted longer with Hagler than Hearns did too. Pavlik wasn't as good as Hearns, but he was bigger, stronger and tougher. Remember, how long someone lasts with one fighter, vis a vis how long another would last..doesn't mean the one who lasts longer is better. Duran lasted 15 with Hagler, Hearns lasted only 3...Hearns blasted Duran away. Ali-Foreman-Frazier same. Styles makes fights man. You know this. Why cause me to have to state the obvious? You're better than that.
Less fighters than Hearns have lasted past 3 with GGG. Unless you think Curtis Stevens has a better chin than Tommy too. But I don't think Pavlik goes the distance with GGG. The alchy gets stopped circa 10-11.
Golovkin's advantage in skill is the difference. He would disrupt Pavlik's rhythm with his jab, timing, and punch variety. Pavlik was essentially a 1-2 punch guy. Golovkin can switch it up, and his body shots would kill Pavlik. GGG KO 8
Lesser fighters than Hearns have gone past 3 rounds against Hagler too. Many of them in fact. Lesser fighters than Spinks lasted longer with Tyson than Spinks did. You can't compare fighters based on how long they'll last with a certain fighter. Anyway, I think Pavlik is tough enough to last the distance with GGG.
Pavlik was too easy to hit and with his long torso would be an easy target with Golov's hook to the body. I don't think Kelly gets knocked clean. But he gets punished until either his corner or the ref steps in.
