Both men were formidable Jnr. Middleweights. Trinidad only had a few fights there but in the process managed to defeat two previously undefeated Titlists dropping them each multiple times. Mugabi had far more experience there fighting Mexican roadsweepers, car mechanics, African booty scratchers and the like. Mugabi more ferocious and Trinidad more economical and calculated. What transpires? Trinidad fucks the African up, that's what! Mugabi comes out strong, bullies Tito and knocks him down. Tito shakes it of and comes on strong from round 4 on and knocks Mugabi the fuck out by the end of the 7th round. The Sly One has Spoken!!
Trinidad KO 6 Tito's quicker handed, and he really looked refreshed and rejuvenated at 154 lbs, which goes to show he probably should have moved up around 1997-98 to that weight. Never should have planned to stay at 160 after the Hopkins fight, but that's changing the subject. Tito was simply superior to Mugabi.
Trinidad by KO mid rounds...but in those 6-7 rounds he takes more punishment that 12 vs. Hopkins or Vargas.
