    10 is extremely generous, imo.

I say 7, tops. The difference in size is huge. The difference in skill is huge. The difference in talent is huge. Hop would literally hit him at will, and Canelo wouldn't be able to hurt Hop for shit. The Hopkins of the Johnson fight could maintain a high pace with endless stamina, and was a finisher.

    Complete massacre.

Hopkins beats Hagler, Robinson, and Monzon...let alone Canelo. Only Jones beats Hopkins at 160lbs (and that's because Jones beats everyone else too).

Still, until I see canelo seriously hurt, I wont pick anyone to KO him. Hopkins by clear decision.

No one stopped Johnson before or since.

The pudgy Ginger would get laid out. Canelo got physically pushed back by Floyd for fucks sake. Hop would throw him around like a rag doll.

TRue..I forgot how controlled reckless Hopkins was in his prime...before the Middleweight tourney....the roughhousing...the punches from thigh to back off the head...I think 10 is too many rounds...

Hopkins loses to Hagler. Nothing will ever change my mind on that. The Robinson of the St. Valentines Day massacre beats Hopkins. Monzon vs Hopkins would be a close, competitive fight. Hopkins-Monzon would also be a very rough, and dirty fight.

Bullshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! Hagler feasted on smaller guys coming up or mediocre fighters in his weight class. Hopkins showed that at 50 years old he could survive Kovalev at 175lbs! Hopkins was a big man, much taller than Hagler, could match Marvin for Stamina, more elusive than Hagler, can't get hurt, hardly even get hit. Hopkins wins this fight easier than y'all realize.

Robinson in the SVM? Jake Lamotta was short with a big hittable head....Hopkins beats Robinson...who was at his best at Welterweight.

What does Hopkins surviving Kov have to do with a Hagler matchup?? I didn't say Marv would stop him! OBVIOUSLY, Hopkins vs Hagler is going the distance. That's a given. I feel as if the 83 Hagler was a more complete fighting machine than Hopkins, and I think his right jab would give Hopkins more trouble than you think.

Don't forget, Hagler had long arms. If I'm not mistaken, a longer reach than Hopkins, despite being shorter.

The Hagler of 83 wasn't stuck in the mud like the 87 Hagler that lost to Leonard. He was quicker of both hand and foot than you might remember.

Close fight, but I feel Hagler would have pulled it out.

Based on the way Duran was able to counter Hagler and disrupt his rhythm I could see Hopkins winning a decision

Yup, Hagler had freakishly long arms for his height..he and Hopkins had the same reach. However when reach is the same, Height trumps it as it makes reach more effective...based on the angle of punching. For example, when Mosley fought Forrest it looked as though Forrest had the longer arms even though he didn't.

I agree that it's a close fight and I don't say that Hopkins wins easily. Not at all. I just think that B-Hop was better overall than Hagler. B-Hop was an exceptional fighter. Still underrated.

I think pretty much all of us would pick prime Hopkins over prime Canelo, but how do you think Canelo would fare against the 2004-05 Hopkins at 160?

I think prime Hopkins would stop Nelo in 11.
