The holy holm signing isnt bullshit. The fact that one has to beat someone in the first round or else it's not considered dominating is bullshit. And honestly, is pretty uneasy that people in here think that. But hey, what do i know. According to you, i dont know shit about MMA.
I think what bothers me the most from you MWS is that when you commented on holm, you had not seen one of her fights. You commented before seeing them. As if you knew what you were talking about. It's bullshit.
So yeah i saved this thread specifically because i knew i would bump it one day and tell some of you to kiss my ass
Kudos for that prediction. I didn't even think you were really serious with this. It kinda makes Tate look even worse than she is and you saying Holm didn't deserve the shot over Tate a bit more ridiculous even though you were technically right in terms of accomplishments in MMA. Looks like the matchmakers thought she would provide the more interesting matchup.
Kudos Anthony, you called that one like a champ and stuck to your guns. I have a question though. Why did you think Rhonda fighting so often would work against her? Was she overtraining or what?
She technically didn't deserve it more than Tate. I hated the fact the lied to Tate and I felt that Tate would extremely well in the fight.
Not over training, but not focused. She is doing a book, movies, shows, etc., and still only training with this one idiot Ed,one who has her thinking she could go pro as a boxer
I think it is more about her being flawed. She was seen as this MMA god when in reality, her standup is on the level of Kimbo Slice.
The thing I found most admirable about Rousey was her ability to handle that crammed schedule and still perform in fights. It turns out she really can't. But you hit the nail on the head in earlier posts about other girls like Tate and Holm being singularly focused on training to beat Rousey while Rousey was just maintaining.
Please tell us what qualifies him as having good standup? Being KO'd by a lhw? Barely getting by a punching bag in James Thompson? Please elaborate.
Her whole career is based off his standup. Clearly he can throw hands well. I mean why do you think he is famous?
I seen him fight. The only thing the man does well is standup. I mean why else is he famous if he wasn't beating people. His standup certainly isn't terrible. He is just an old man. The guy is almost 50
You are right. Except the person is not famous because he is famous. He is famous because he was a street brawler who had success in MMA and boxing by using the only thing he does well, fight. And not just any fighting, but throwing those hands.
He really didnt have any success in MMA though. He was used to gain viewers because he was an internet sensation. The guy never hed a single decent win, which goes to tell me that there is no reason to consider him a "good" striker.
You try throwing hands with the likes of tank abbot and tell me how your dreams were. He beat guys in the mma and with strike force. He also boxed professionally. Again, something not really possible without at least a decent punching game
Lots of people talk shit about fighters who aren't in the top 10 or 20 in the world. How many of us are in the top 10 or 20 in the world at what we do? If you were the 40th ranked person in the world in your profession, would you say you suck? Or would you say you're great at what you do but maybe not in the elite of the elite. Everyone talks shit about Kimbo for losing to Seth Petruzelli, a legit badass, because they hadn't heard of him. Seth was the best fighter in Florida at the time. Out of 20 million people. Who here could have defeated Seth that night? I was actually there in Sunrise, with my wife at the time. Mainly to see Arlovski / Nelson, but the Petruzelli / Slice fight was fun.
