The Holmes of the Ali fight would out-box Bowe in a competitive fight. If the fight actually happened in '92-'93 I think Bowe stops him.
In my opinion Holmes does not beat Lewis. I base this on the fact he never beat anyone like Lewis. And he struggled with lots of lesser fighters than Lewis.
True...but Prime Lewis struggled with an old Mercer and a young Mercer was whupped by an old Holmes. So things kinda even out there. So then we have to look at styles: Holmes threw more punches than Lewis and had more stamina and I think Lewis would struggle to stop Holmes...since he couldn't stop an old Holyfield (who was also a former cruiser).
Holmes was not as durable as holyfield. He was resilient no doubt. But holy could fight through it. Holmes would be visibly hurt and need to battle back. I think lewis's power would have been the perfect weapon against holmes' volume. Plus lewis' own jab would be effective in dealing with holmes'.
