Judges tend to give close rounds to Canelo.

    Mayweather fight:

Most people had Floyd winning at least 10 rounds (many in fact had it a shutout)...one judge had it even.

    Trout Fight:

Open scoring bullshit revealed that close rounds and some that looked to be won by Trout were being award to Canelo. At the end the scorecards were shockingly wide, not telling the true story of teh fight.

    Lara Fight:

Fight looked to be a draw or a very close one point win either way. Although it was a Split decision, at least one card had Canelo winning by a mile. "That was not the fight we saw".

    Cotto Fight:

I saw a 7-5, 8-4 type fight for Canelo. Judges scorecards suggested a wipe out.

Therefore.....if the GGG-Canelo fight goes the distance, like I think it will....anything can happen.

This is true and it is interesting to think what causes it.

I think it has something to do with the snappiness of his punches - he might be one of the guys whose punches look better to the ringside than they do through screen (there are differences).

Another thing could be that the crowd is usually on his side and judges give him close rounds on basis of crowd's reaction.

Or, it could be that he is able to do just enough to capture rounds or that he gets hit less than the TV screen seems to suggest.

I seem to score fights often for Canelo myself. I though he won about three rounds against Floyd and I had him winning both Trout and Lara

Canelo better hire Andre Ward to train him, cause he'll need the intervention of the Son of God to beat Golov.

If Lara had any fuckin balls he woulda beaten Canelo by a mile. When he stood in center ring and boxed him, Canelo could do literally NOTHING. But instead, what does he do? Runs. I STILL thought Lara won the fight, but he essentially pulled an Oscar... blew a fight he was winning by running.

Good post. Ringside view of his punching may tell a different story.

Canelo gets the benefit because he's a star and has the backing of the most powerful promotion in the sport currently.

The only outcome I have no qualms about is the Cotto fight. At best, Mig won 4 rounds.

The Trout fight was absolute HORSESHIT. Fuckin opening scoring forced Trout to have to stand-and-fight, where if he boxed Canelo he likely woulda beaten him. But because he KNEW he was behind, he couldn't afford to do that. One of the most corrupt fights of recent times.

He lands clean, hard punches and he takes fewer clean hard punches than it sometimes appears. As time goes on i actually have higher regard for boxing judges...when the fans on tv see things one way and the judges another the judges are very often right. After all they can hear the shots land, can usually pick up better on the minutia of the other guys' reaction etc.

Well he is a star. Similar treatment Oscar got in some fights.

Same here. I also thought Trout won by one point.
