Honestly, I can't think of one 30 for 30 that wasn't excellent. Some are greater than others. "Chasing Tyson" was easily one of the best, and not just saying that as a biased boxing fan. Last night was the premier of the newest one, "The Four Falls of Buffalo" about the 4 SB losses in a row for the Bills. That makes its way into the 10 best as well.

What's your favorite 30 for 30's? I think the best have been "No Crossover", which is about Allen Iverson. "June 17th, 1994" which re-visits that infamous day that the OJ chase was going down at the same time as the Knicks-Rockets finals, and "Chasing Tyson" which is about how long it took for Tyson-Holy to finally happen.

ALL of them are worth watching though.

Yes! Both those are excellent! Especially the Two Escobars. "Unguarded" the Chris Herren story is another really good one. "Without Bias" the Len Bias one is also amongst the best.

One of the earliest ones "Muhammad and Larry" was one of the best and saddest.

Watch 30 seconds in...the ref pushes Ali back to keep him from "rushing" Holmes before the start of the fight and Ali stumbles backward on wobbly legs. Yoou see Ali touching the top rope to steady himself.

    Sad.

I looked at the episode guide and noticed a ton of them that look interesting that I don't remember even running across:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/30_for_30

Off the top of my head I enjoyed the ones about The Fab Five, The SMU Football program, The Boz, The Bad Boys Pistons, I Hate Christian Leattner, The Prince Of Pennsylvania (the real life events behind Foxcatcher)

I could have sworn they did one about Jerry Tarkanians UNLV Runnin' Rebels team, but that may have been a completely different production company.

I agree. 30 for 30 is a great series. All of them are good. The episodes about Hillsborogh, the two Escobars, and Jimmy The Greek are three of my favorites. I haven't seen the one about Tyson.

For the people talking about "The U" they actually made a "The U Part II." Both are good.

I try to watch all of them.

The Two Escobars might have been the best one. I found it very fascinating, and sad of course.

The worst one was the Tupac and Tyson. As a fan of both of them, that was just terrible. And of course it had Michael Eric Dyson's corny ass trying to make every 2Pac thing into having some big deep meaning.

"Every time Mike Tyson throws a punch at Bruce Seldon, Tupac is in his mind throwing a punch at the knot of contradictions that is his life".

I can't imagine how pretentious one must be to actually get in front of a camera and seriously say this gibberish.

The Christian Laettner one was good. I was glad that they pointed out that his little chest stomp was retaliation for a prior cheap shot (wrong guy though). What I didn't like was that they conveniently left out the accusations of him doing shady business deals with other people's money. He was accused/sued of doing things far worse than being an asshole for a competitive edge.

The U episodes were good. Michael Irvin came across as the most likeable in the first episode as opposed to annoying guys like Randall Hill. The Fab Five episode was good too. It made Chris Webber look pretty bad.

The recent Buffalo one was good. I felt bad for Scott Norwood. He gets so much blame when it wasn't a very high percentage kick to begin with, and people forget how badly the Bills were dominated when it came to 3rd down conversions. The Giants consistently came through on 3rd down, the Bills didn't convert a 3rd down until the last drive. If the Bills weren't dominated in this area, there would have been no need for a late drive and last second kick. Luckily the Bills fans aren't idiots like so many Red Sox fans who blamed it on Bill Buckner and not the bullpen who had already blown the 2 run, 2 out lead.

The USFL one was very good. Another reason to hate Donald Trump. I also liked 9.79 a lot. Carl Lewis...an amazing athlete but my god is he always smug and unlikeable.

Jordan Rides the Bus was too much of an MJ blowjob for my liking.

I Hate Christian Laettner wasn't very good IMO. It was one of the few that bored me.

BENJI is an excellent one! Top 3-5 IMO.

From Elway to Marino is a good one. Jimmy The Greek is also a good one.

REED Absolutely Looooooooooooves 30 for 30...@ GunPoint, REED Would Say the "Fab Five" was his Favorite, Based on the Subject Matter, but Nearly EVERY 30 for 30 is Watchable...

The Len Bias Piece, the U, Reggie Miller, O.J. Simpson, Pony Express, Chuck Wepner, Roll Tide/War Eagle, Broke, 9.79, Benji, Bo Jackson, Jim Valvano, Sonny Vacarro, Youngstown Boys, the Big East, Randy Moss, Bad Boys, Brian Bosworth, I Hate Christian Laettner, etc...There's Probably Some REED Left Off, but he Could Literally Re-Watch ANY of those Episodes and Has Many of them Saved on DVR...

There was even One about Cyclist, Greg LeMond and the '99 U.S. Women's World Cup Team, that REED THOROUGHLY Enjoyed...

    Fantastic Show!!!

    Best 30 for 30 I've seen was the June 17, 1994 one.

So many big sporting events going on yet everyone was fixated on the OJ chase. They even had to do split screen on NBC to show the car chase while game 5 of the NBA Finals was going on

At the Time, Reports were Coming Out about O.J. "Wanting to See his Mother"...REED and his Friends were Speculating O.J. was Going to OFF Himself in his Mother's Front Yard...

Needless to Say, THE LAST Thought on Anybody's Mind was the NBA Finals, Even w/the N.Y. Knicks Playing...

The ones I liked best were

    The Two Escobars
USFL (Trump inserts his foot in his mouth as always)
9.79 (Carl Lewis is such a shithead)
    I Hate Christian Laettner
    Of Miracles and Men
    Kings Ransom
    Legend of Jimmy The Greek
    The Best That Never Was
    Pony Excess
Catching Hell (jesus, that poor fucking guy)
    Requiem For The Big East
Bad Boys (Isaiah Thomas comes off as a massive creep)
    Rand University
    Hillsborough

The only ones I thought were pretty shitty were
    No Crossover
    Jordan Rides The Bus
Straight Outta LA (very corny and a lot of reaching done to try and tie sports to Gangsta Rap)
The House Of Steinbrenner (fails to really point out that the Yankees resurgence of the late 90s only happened because Steinbrenner was gone for several years... Continues the myth of him being "the greatest owner")
No Mas (answers nothing, of interest to neophytes only)
The U part 2 (the first part was ok but this seemed pretty unnecessary)
June 17, 1994 (very disjointed, IMO... there was no focus to it... Could've been split into different docs)

That's the first sports story I remember that was un-spinnable... No adult could water it down and make it anything other than a dark dose of reality to my then 8-year-old ears... Other stuff, your dad could sort of cover your ears or tell a white lie to make it less harsh... This was a kid with his whole life ahead of him OD-ing ... Can't spin that
