    i understand the meaning of pound for pound to be Who would win in a fight where these men were the exact same size. it was created to give recognition to fighters like Ray Robinson, who though not as large as the heavyweights, were clearly the more skilled men.

    alvarez barely beat trout, lost to lara, got embarrassed vs mayweather jr (who he outweighed by at least 15 to 20lbs), and was able to beat cotto because he was the much bigger man. the guy struggles with anyone who has boxing ability.

    Cotto is a hell of a fighter. Fightbeat posters picked him to beat Canelo at almost a 2-1 margin. But wait! That was BEFORE the fight. The posters here weren't let in on the secret. That Cotto is "old and small." Canelo doesn't get credit because he beat the Puerto Rican George Burns. Meanwhile, Crawford is a badass for coming back against an old, inactive Cuban midget fighting two weight classes above where he should be.
