IF the Pac fight doesn't happen in April, then I agree with you that the Postol fight should happen next.

No reason for it NOT to. Both with TR, and they're two top guys at 140.

OBVIOUSLY, with the money and star potential that comes with fighting Manny, that's priority #1. But if it doesn't happen, I'll be disappointed if Crawford-Postol isn't next.

The only thing we can do is pray that Theophane beats him.

Of course, a fight with the Garcia-Khan 2 winner could happen, but as you said, I don't think Broner is gonna be matched tough. They'll put him in with bums. :wack:

Theopane ain't beating Broner. After Theopane, they'll probably match him with Omar Figueroa. Figueroa's a fraud and he's tailor made for Broner, and he's PBC so it'd be easy to make.

Broner was supposed to fight Barthalemy last year, and judging by how Barthelemy looked in his last fight I think he could beat Broner.

If Crawford is so good to be top 5 pfp then , you know, having a MUCH better resume than GGG is a basic entry level requirement.

Crawford having difficulty getting fights against good guys in his own division. Same as GGG.

Looking back, he did very well against Crawford even though the bout wasn't as close as the cards

Gamboa is Craw's toughest fight to date. Burns lost by a rather wide margin. Yeah, he did well in some of the early rounds, but even early on in that fight it was apparent TC was a different level fighter and once he got into his groove Burns was outclassed.

Crawford gave Burns a pretty good beating down the stretch.

PLUS, I think Crawford is just a whole lot sharper and more comfortable at 140 than he was at 135. This was his optimal weight all along, he had no business at lightweight.

I was rethinking my P4P last night, and I think at this point TC deserves to be top 5. I say this because Rigo hasn't fought since WWII, and at this point who knows if the lil Cuban is gonna be the same fighter who beat Donaire. And I think TC deserves to be ahead of Loma at this point, simply because he's done more. Loma is a great talent, but then again, so is TC.

Gonzalez should be everyone's #1, but after that the P4P is wide open. My top 5 currently:

    1. Gonzalez
    2. Kov
    3. Ward
    4. Golov
    5. Crawford

Agreed about Chocolatito being number 1.

    1- Gonzalez
    2- Rigondeaux
    3- Kovalev
    4- Crawford
    5- Ward
    6- Golovkin
    7- Lomachenko
    8- Uchiyama
    9- Pacquiao
    10- Walters

Roughly that's about what it is today.

For this to be more defined, obviously some fights need to get made.

Uchiyama vs Walters at 130 lbs would be a potential fight of the year candidate. Those two would go to war and let the bombs FLY...

If Rigo is not going to get in the ring with Loma, then fights with Frampton or Quigg are available at 122 lbs. Something's gotta get made.

I think most are in agreement that the fight that would determine who is pound 4 pound number 1 today would be Kovalev vs Ward. Supposedly for late next year. I won't hold my breath, but hopefully it happens.

I'd say it's Loma vs Rigo more than Kov vs Ward. GGG-Ward and Kov-Ward are probably interchangeable too.

Oh shit thanks for the reminder. I was sure I had him in.

Also, yes I would agree that a fight with Loma and Rigo probably would trump Ward-Kov for number 1 but I don't see that fight happening, unfortunately.

Arum is saying that if Craw-Pac comes off it'll be at 140 for TC's belt. GOOD! I like that idea. Much better than it being at some dumbass catchweight. FINALLY a big fight that'll take place at an actual division limit.

Lol at having Lomachenko in the top 10. While he'll probably end uo there eventually, it's way too early to have him here presently.

As for the fight, poor Jean. He's a decent enough fighter, but his only two chance at gold came aganst a very good and an excellent fighter.

Disappointing mismatch. Lundy lost to a guy Craw already destroyed (Dulorme).

I was hoping for Crawford-Provo, but I guess that was too much to ask.

I think Crawford is a better fighter than Postol, and would thrash him if they fought, but as of this moment Postol has the best win of the two in Matty Ice. That's just fact.

REED Has Little Doubt Provo would TAKE the Fight as Well, but Arum Seems to Be in the Process of BURYING Crawford, just as he's Done w/Rigondeaux and TRIED to Do w/Floyd...

If it Craw-Provo, I was DEFINITELY gonna buy tix to go see this. Now, I'll give it more thought but I still might end up going. I wanna see TC live and Verdejo being the co-feature makes it more attractive.

Crawford vs Lundy is a mismatch, but at least TC is staying busy. Big fights will come.

Hopefully Verdejo gets a fight against a top contender type of guy.

I don't see Provo doing too well against a sharp, accurate puncher like Crawford. I'm not as big on Crawford as others, nor as big on Provo, but I see Crawford beating the shit out of him while it lasts, probably a tko on cuts or damage in the middle rounds.

Gamboa is a better win than Matthysse. Lundy already lost to Postol, too, so it's just a comparison fight.

Lundy is a decent fighter, but does nothing for Crawford except make him money.

It was at 135. I just think Gamboa is a better fighter than Matthysse. I understand why others may disagree.

oh sorry. yeah. 135. still gamboa had not done shit there either.

as far as crawford, at this point is less proven then broner was when broner was undefeated.

Crawford's win over Gamboa alone trumps anything Broner has done.

It was impressive the way Crawford came back and took the fight to Gamboa and it was an impressive ending. However as Double L said, Gamboa had done nothing at 135(still hasn't) and was an overblown midget who had eaten himself out of two weight classes. Postol's win over Matthysse at 140 is definitely the bigger feather in the cap.
