Jon Jones said he would step in to fight Miocic but only for the interim title. And if he wins, he fights werdum at UFC 200
Fuck interim titles. Just because a fight is postponed doesn't mean they have to create a pretend title. TFK
Except pretend titles are stupid and serve no purpose other than to bump up PPV sales by being able to call a non-title fight a title fight. An interim belt would be ridiculous in this case as neither Cain nor Werdum will be out for long. And in a few months it will look really stupid when they are fighting for the title while either Jones or Miocic is walking around with a make believe belt calling themselves the champ. TFK

It sucks that the fight was called off, but I'm glad Cain isn't champion anymore. I'm in favor of interim titles if the champion hasn't fought in over 6 months and pulls out of a fight. I'm in favor of stripping the title and giving it to the interim guy if the champion goes over a year without fighting. Cain went almost 2 years without defending his belt after the last JDS fight.
A year is too long in the ufc. As long as the interim title holder and champ fight next, I have no issues with it one bit.
