Only thing going on tonight is if indeed Leo finally gets his Oscar which is practically a done deal, but never underestimate the power of GLAAD aka LGBT moles in Hollywood whom might have fought mightily behind the scenes to hand the Oscar to the transgender pic actor Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl just to push their agenda.

I just saw Olivia Munn (Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse) in the red carpet and, holy cow, she looks freaking anorexic! I mean I always found her very sexy, but now looks like she will be starring in a film about concentration camp prisioners.

The Danish Girl just got its first award for Best Supporting Actress Alicia Vikander. Leo's expected Oscar win is now in jeopardy.

Mad Max: Fury Road sweeping the Oscars winning six awards so far. Star Wars: The Force Awakens being chastised with zero wins (even lost the obvious Special Effects category to low budget Ex-Machina of all films in the biggest surprise/upset of the night so far).

    Another upset!

Mark Ryland won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor over sentimental favorite Sylvester Stallone.

Someone please give some breast implants to flat chested Daisy Ridley. That low cut cleavage dress was designed for women with boobs and not boy's chest.

Blatant political propaganda by the Hollywood Gay Mafia when they awarded and applauded Sam Smith with his LGBT speech. :pissed:

Leo's acceptance speech was totally generic and forgetable until he made a last minute political twist about global warming.

and in the biggest surprise, Spotlight won Best Picture.

Spotlight was a shock. Seemed to come out of the blue. Mad max winning so many was shocking to me also. Revenant got 3, but I'm glad it didn't get beat picture, because it wasn't really that good. I'm glad Stallone didn't get shit, I still haven't forgiven him for rocky 5. Chris rocks opening monologue was great but he continues the race talk too much. I hope the show had huge ratings so that will and jada can suck it.

Spotlight was right up in a H2H with The Revenant for Best Picture this year and I'm not surprised at all that it won.
Loads of critics were claiming either was 'Best Movie' of the year.

You are correct that what is surprising is Mad Max getting so many wins when it's a so-so movie.

I doubt it. Aside from Chris Rock and Leo getting his overdue Oscar, this was one of the most boring, forgettable ceremony in many years. It also marks the first time a Star Wars film goes back home empty handed.

    It's a fucking great movie.
A true, 70s, slow-burner that was indicative of that era of great movies. :dunno:

It was extremely overrated when it was released just because it starred the two most respected biggest stars of that time (Robert Redford & Dustin Huffman) tackling a still very hot topic from the news (the Watergate scandal), but the film itself was just liberal Hollywood shoving their fist up the Republican Party's ass. The film as a political thriller paled in comparison by anything Costa Gavras had done with less budget. The whole plot was worth of a tv movie of the week. This film, which was nominated for Best Picture in the same year as Taxi Driver, Rocky and Network, is second only to 'Bound For Glory' as a WTF they were thinking when it was nominated. And to be honest, even 'Bound For Glory' was more watchable. 5/10

You're clearly off your fockin head.
It is so deserving of being nominated, released to universal acclaim back then and even now rated highly on all the modern movie sites.

It was a risky movie to make for a start: Alan J. Pakula (who has already cemented his status by making Klute and The Parallax View) took a novel so devoid of any subplots or characterization, yet the movie totally captures you from start to end. I remember watching this as a fucking teenager and thinking it was great then.
The acting: Redford, Hoffman, Robards, Balsam, Holbrook - every one a winner.
One of modern American film’s most intelligent and provocative accounts of a it's own political fuck-up, and a near-perfect depiction of journalism.
It it pure brilliance and is as clever and watchable now as it was in '76.

    9/10

A woman, who has a nice back - it's one of the sexiest things they can show off without coming across as a slut...
