first fight, Duran by wide decision as he chases Camacho around the ring... Similar to Duran/Viruet title fight

second fight, Duran by even wider decision doing the same thing

third fight, Duran might KO him... Camacho was like 45 when he was a middleweight

 

Yep, this fight is a guranteed marathon

 

Duran had too much power and aggression for Camacho at 135 and 147:

 

We saw Duran against two guys with Camacho's speed and movement, Ray and Benitez. We also saw what happened when they didn't fight stupid

 

What did Camacho have when he got tagged though?

Duran is overrated. Great fighter, yes, but overrated. He was very beatable.

 

I can't ever recall a time when Duran beat a master boxer, who didn't fight his fight (Ray fought his fight in the first one). Duran depended on either slow easy to hit guys or guys that came to war with him. Even a mediocre fighter like Kirkland Lang beat his ass.

The later two matchups are too dumb to even consider.

And obviously, prime-for-prime Duran wins at 135. Pretty wide decision. Camacho would be in survival mode after 5 rounds or so. He'd take a similar ass whuppin that he took in the Chavez fight.

 

Sly's Duran hate is pretty annoying at this point. And it's all based on jealousy.

 

The Duran wandered forsaken in a clown ring for 7 days and 7 rests, then finally fell exhausted in the desert at the palace of ceaser so that he might rise again.

Camacho would almost certainly survive and probably nick some rounds but he'd be reduced to all out running as it went on & lose comfortably

Perhaps the problem is that Sly and I read the whole book. The believers have quit reading just after the halfway because they realize their god is getting embarassed by the Satan

I just received my copy courtesy of Hut*Hut. Fascinating read, but filled with contradictions.....
