Great fight but one which Duran will lose. No way Duran is coping with that speed and madness from a southpaw stance. No way

This is one of those match ups like curry-honeghan, clay- Liston shit even rousey vs holm where the established fighter would be expected to win and easily but on the night they get beaten up and everyone is like WTF?!

Pacquiao would light him up! Duran wouldn't know what the hell happened. Pacquiao would beat him fairly easily. Duran couldn't cope with that style: speed, power, movement , unpredictability , stamina and work rate from a southpaw stance no less. He would not be able to deal with it. It'll be al manner of "no mas" in a de place!

On paper and in a mm people would pick Duran but if we had a time machine and could make it happen Pacquiao would fuck him up big time bro

Marquez' style is to counterpunch. He makes a point of waiting to counter. That's not Duran's style.

Marquez timed his puncher better than Duran and had a better punch variety, the two things that led to his success against Pac.

Duran was stronger than JMM and humped very well though

    Pick em fight my ass!

Duran would fuck Pac up. Not easy. I think Pac's handspeed and angles are problematic for Duran for awhile. But in the long run, Duran actually takes less punishment here. Pac never really met a straight right he could avoid.

Duran counters him and wears him down. To me, Duran's performance against Palomino trumps Pac against Cotto. Palomino was better than Cotto, as Cotto, brave as he is, is overrated as elite fighters go.

Duran via late rounds stoppage in a good fight that eventually turns one sided.

Absolutely Duran could fight a counter puncher's fight. And he would spot how open Manny is to those straight counter rights. He'd force a ref stoppage.

Prime Benitez on the other hand, absolutely HUMILIATES Pac in style.

Pac Duran is at least a competitive and good fight at 147.

    At 135, Duran butchers him.

Absolute nonsense. Best fighter Duran faced at 135lbs was dejesus and he split fights with him ( dejesus had been beaten before and since). Pacquiao is a better fighter than dejesus. Same fight at both lightweight and welterweight. Duran ain't never seen speed like that at lightweight

As compared to Pac's only fight at 135.... against the devastating and legendary.... David Diaz.

Based on pac's fights at featherweight and then at 140 and 147 we can extrapolate that he was equally as good at lightweight and that was possibly his peak weight potentially. Duran, as great as he was, wasn't dealing with that monster. If Pacquiao existed in the 70s we wouldn't even talk about Duran.

Roids weren't nearly as rampant/potent in the 70s as they were in the 00s.

So Pac might be the one obsolete in the 70s.

With Pryor at 140 and Leonard at 147, if Floyd were around in the 80s he'd hide his ass at 135 his whole career.

After Pryor was a full blown, washed up crack head, Floyd would suddenly jump and fight him.

...that's what he was thinking the whole time....

of course Duran still has to fight THE VERY BEST version of Pacquiao(Hatton/Cotto fights)....not the one Floyd fought...who was over the hill....already nite nited by JM Marquez

Styles makes fights. Pbf won't necessarily have an easier time. Pac's speed work rate and style would give Duran absolute fits

Pacquiao aggression will just give Duran more chances to hit him in the face.....and yes styles makes fight...Floyd' style is to duck and avoid at all cause till the time is right...so he will fight the 1990 version of Duran..if ever.

Agreed, Duran win in a good fight, but one in which he is pretty much in control all the time
