The DC behemoth is losing steam faster than a speeding bullet. Warner Bros & DC Films: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took a 70% nose dive earning $50 million ($52.4 million is what WB claims, but we will know for sure tomorrow) in its second weekend of release claiming the top spot at the box office. Apparently the negative reviews and word of mouth took its toll on the superhero showdown. It is clear now that just like 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and 'Twilight: New Moon' this film is frontloaded, making most of its revenue on its first weekend and dropping fast afterwards. On Friday it had a 81% drop which was lower than expected. In comparison 'Jurassic World' had only a 50% drop on its second Friday & 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' had only a 46% drop. But don't feel sad for DC. The film has grossed a hefty $261 million in 10 days domestically and worldwide has a current total of $587 million. DC was targeting comicbook fans to attend in droves on its first week and that is just exactly what they did, thus igniting the planned DC Expanded Universe to rival Marvel Studios.

    Mission Accomplished.

    Zootopia
took the second place with $19.8 million. The Disney Animation Studios has a current estimated global gross of over $800 million.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 had a mere 38% drop and gained $11.1 million for a 10 days total of $36.5 million.

In the fourth place PureFlix FaithBased sequel God is Not Dead 2 debuted to $8.1 million which is a little lower than its 2014 predecessor. This hints that the sequel has not been as embraced by its targeted audience as much as the first one did in less screens. The fact that there are still three other Faith-Based films currently competing for the same group of people didn't help either.

Miracles From Heaven took a dent on the above mentioned film by grabbing $7.5 million in the fifth spot. The film has a current total of $46.8 million.

And bombing miserably is Meet The Blacks a parody of The Purge which took only $4 million in 1'011 screens.

Final numbers will be released on Monday.

Comedies never fall into that category. You know a comedy is shit when they can't find a single, even slightly funny scene to put in the trailer.

Not always they put the funniest stuff in the trailer. For example Michael Moore's documentaries are hilarious, but by the trailers you think is some serious shit.

People polled after viewing BvS:DOJ 60% stated they went to watch the film because they wanted to watch another Batman movie. So the real box office draw for DC/WB continues to be Batman, which will be interesting to see how a DC film without Batman can do. On that same note, WB ordered last minute reshoots of Suicide Squad and pour a few more millions dollars to its budget to change the tone and add (a) more humor (b) more Batman. Ben Affleck just completed writing the script for a solo Batman movie that he will star & direct.

You can thank Michael Keaton and Jack for being the reason Batman became a more popular superhero than Superman. Cause pre-1989, he wasn't.

No X, you can thank Tim Burton for making a decent film. Michael Keaton was SHIT as Bruce Wayne and as Batman (especially as Bruce Wayne) Poor casting. Keaton can be Birdman but he's no Batman. Jack Nicholson was a fat funny joker that didn't do the comic book character any justice. We enjoyed the film at the time because it was much better than what had preceded it but when you compare it with Nolans trilogy it's utter rubbish.

Christian Bale is a ten times better Bruce Wayne than Beetlejuice Keaton was and Heath Leadger's Joker destroyed Nicholson's version.

It wouldn't have mattered the quality of film Burton made if Nicholson wasn't in it. Jack's star power as the Joker is THE main reason the movie was a hit.

And Keaton was a great Batman/Bruce Wayne. A MUCH better one than Bale.

Bale is a better actor overall than Keaton, but as Batman, Keaton was better for the role.

You must be kidding? Keaton's Batman better than Bale's. You've lost your mind. It's not even close and shouldn't even be a debate.

And current interest in the batman character is ALL because of Nolan's trilogy. People were turned off the character after Forever and Robin. Yes, you can't blame Keaton, Nicholson or Burton for that directly because they weren't involved in those films...but the reason why the franchise started to slip into silly campiness was a result of the way Nicholson's joker was. He was more silly than he was sinister and so that set the tone, and then future directors just took it too far. However after Nolan's versions future incantations of Batman will remain dark and serious, hence why Batfleck is even darker still.

Jim Carey is the reason the franchise slipped into silly campiness. Not Jack.

This debate has been done a million times. Nicholson's Joker WAS very ruthless. Probably more ruthless than you might remember. He was just a DIFFERENT type of Joker than Ledger was, but that's not his fault. In 1989, in a PG-13 movie, audiences weren't ready for a Joker like Ledger's.

Jim Carey as the Riddler is really what set off the campy, goofy bullshit. That character was a complete buffoon, as was TLJ's version of Two Face.

Then Arnold starred in the next one as Mr. Freeze, and with Clooney's help, they effectively killed the franchise for 8 years.

Keaton and Nicholson had NOTHING to do with the franchise going down hill. Along with Burton, the three of them MADE Batman a global star.

    So, stupid post.

Christian Bale wasn't a great Batman or Bruce Wayne. HE doesn't even think so, and Bale has one of the biggest egos in Hollywood.

When people think of Bruce Wayne, I can PROMISE you, Michael Keaton is the first face that pops in their minds.

Lawd have mercy. You're talking utter nonsense now. When people think of Bruce Wayne that quirky annoying misfit called Michael Keaton is the last person they think of. Bale has defined the character on screen. Can you imagine Michael Keaton in those scenes with Liam Neeson?

Keaton's not even in the top 3 portrayals of Brunce Wayne and there have only been Five. Lol

Ben Afflecks Bruce Wayne is far superior and even Val Kilmer did a better job ( just let down by the film )

You're the opposite of a nostalgic. You have recency bias. In fighters, as well as apparently, in movies.

Michael Keaton was the best, most charismatic Bruce Wayne by far. And he was a better Batman because he didn't use that RETARDED voice that Bale used for his Batman.

LMAO @ Kilmer being a better Batman than Keaton. Kilmer didn't even wanna be there. Most bored looking Batman there was, cause he hated the role.

Keaton was MADE to be Batman. And whether you admit it or not, yes, MOST adults still think of Keaton first when they think Batman.

But since everything with you is based off recency, you think Bale.

Not just me, most people prefer Bale to that idiot Keaton. Charismatic my ass.

As for me preferring recent fighters in all cases you're talking out of your ass. Ali is still number one with me and Tyson is my 2nd favourite all time. Those guys aren't recent. The list goes on by the way. You seem stuck on Floyd and Hopkins.

I also vote for Keaton as the most iconic Batman. I mean I was one of the unbelievers who claimed that Pee Wee Herman's director (Burton) was going to deliver the crappiest film ever by casting Mr. Mom/Beetlejuice comedian Michael Keaton. I thought, 'why not cast Adam West if they are going campy anyway?' But then I watched the film...OMG! That was sort of like the Blade runner of comicbook films! I Keaton did such a great job I totally forgot about Mr. Mom & Beetlejuice! From that moment on, no matter what role he did next, to me Keaton was Batman/Bruce Wayne.

I have never been a Bale/Batman fan. In fact I still think that Nolan did a great job in 'The Dark knight', but 'Batman Begins' bored me and 'the Dark Knight Rises' is a failed film. And even 'the Dark Knight' if it didn't had Ledger's epic performance, the film would have been average at best.

Baloney! The first Batman was Lewis Wilson! Any Bat-fan knows that! Robert Lowery was the second Batman. Adam West was the third and Michael Keaton was the FOURTH Batman.

I'm talking about on the big screen and sine they took the character seriously, although batman and batman returns each had very campy elements to them .

    Fuck Keaton. Bale IS Batman.

Why does whoever that plays Batman these days, has to play him with a ridiculous cancer-of-the-larynx-sounding 'menacing' voice?

Is plain dumb, particularly in the last Bale film when, right after Selena Kyle aka Catwoman already knows Bruce Wayne is Batman, he keeps using 'the voice' when talking to her in private.
