Who would have thought a few weeks ago that the behemoth Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was destined for a short two weeks reign before succumbing to a raunchy R-rated comedy with even worst reviews than its own. But that is what apparently happened if the estimated numbers hold. Melissa McCarthy's universally panned comedy The Boss narrowly beat the DC superhero battle royale taking the #1 spot with $23.48 million. The film is the sixth film McCarthy stars in that opens a little over $20 million even thought it has an RT rating of just 18%. Since the film had a budget of only $29 million, this debut puts it on its way to profit street.

Just like box office kryptonite has been negative word of mouth to Zack Snyder's 'Batman V Superman'. Hardcore fans cannot longer blame the critics or an Illuminati/Marvel conspiracy, but their own friends and family who simply didn't loved it like they did. Falling to the second spot with $23.43 million the WB mega production has now grossed $296.6 million domestically and a worldwide current total of $786 million. While that sounds good it is not: it will end its run grossing less money domestically than R-rated Deadpool which cost only a fraction of BvS:DOJ. It will also make barely a little more than 'Deadpool' worldwide, but will not reach the billion dollar club that the last two Dark Knight films enjoyed.

Moving to the third spot is Disney's Zootopia which took $14.3 million for a six weeks domestic total of $296 million. Worldwide it currently stands at $852.5 million.

In the fourth spot My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 took $6.4 million. The comedy sequel has now grossed $46.7 million which is a far cry from the original that grossed $241 million domestically and $597 million worldwide.

Debuting in fifth place is Hardcore Henry which grossed $5 million which was less than it was expected.

Last but not least, Jake Gyllenhall's Demolition imploded on its debut and became this week's bomb landing in the #15 spot with just $1.1 million.

Where did I said it was any good? It has 18% rotten score which puts it as one of worst reviewed movies of the year.

50% RT score doesn't sound like a very good film either, but yeah, it is more interesting in comparison.

Monday's actual numbers are in and 'The Boss' did a little bit better than Sunday's estimates with $23.5 million while 'Batman v Superman' did a little less than reported with $23.3 million. Melissa McCarthy now can boast in her resume that she defeated Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman combined.

But her victory will last until Friday when Disney's 'The Jungle Book' will maul all of them.

I was hoping big fat Greek wedding two would bomb! First film was entertaining but a sequel wasn't necessary

14 years for a sequel is way too long. I was not amused by the first one, but the film made $368 million worldwide on a budget of $5 million on 2002 which put it as the 5th most successful film of that year. This sequel will be lucky if it finishes its run with $100 million worldwide with a $29 million budget.

The first one made a few dollars so in Hollywood logic that made it necessary.
