The legendary " Montreal Duran" vs the Whitaker that beat Chavez but only got a draw for his efforts.

    What happens?

Duran tries to lure Whitaker into a brawl like he did Leonard, but Whitaker is having none of it. All you're getting from Sweet Pea is pure elusive southpaw mischief. He frustrates Duran left right and centre. Duran is pissed and tries some roughhouse tactics. Points are deducted. Whitaker responds in kind when the ref isn't watching and gets away with it. Duran wants to kill Whitaker, the referee, the officials and the crowd ( every last person in the arena). Very frustrating night for him. He refuses to quit this time though and finishes strong.

Pea gets the deserved decision over that wild man. Once again it shows that Duran cannot handle slicksters

Good fight... I like Whitaker at any weight between 135-147 ... Of course, it's a great match, very tight... Sly's making Duran sound like fucking Vinny Pazienza:lol:

I'm shocked to see you pick a Latino tough guy over an African American slickster. That's not your usual way. ;)

I think Duran beats Whitaker but it's not a dominating performance.

we all know it was no coincidence whitaker managed to evade pazienza his entire career. duran at least had the balls to fight him twice and take his whipping like a man

Very close fight at all weights.

I could see them splitting fights, easily. I think Duran enjoyed more prime fights at 147 than did Whitaker who though was obviously still great, maybe not quite as good as he was at 135-140.
