Pre-honeyghan Curry was a welterweight . Anyway Curry is distracted by Canelo's cute face and thick thighs and gets knocked the fuck out
Curry wasn't THAT bad at 154... Still showed flashes of his old self and could still punch ... He was beating the brakes off McCallum and nearly dropped him early before Mike landed that incredible shot ... In his later years, I would agree he was pretty useless
I think Canelo eventually wears him down. I don't really believe in this post/pre Honeyghan bullshit. THe guy was always a flawed fighter, who could look excellent, or average, on any given night.
Excuses. Why don't you offer Hopkins the same excuses for his losses to Taylor (dead at 160lbs when he basically handed Taylor the fights ). There's one rule for 80s guys and another rule for 00s guys
Y'all just make excuses for the likes of curry and Duran but when the 00s and 10s fighters fuck up its because they suck. Lol Thanks to me, everyone is on to you and Xplosive now. You can't get away with that shit anymore. Your reign of terror over this forum is at an end!!!! Muuuuuuhahahahahaha! The Sly One has assumed command!!
Slow your roll, Senora Fassbender(:flip: ) In the case of someone like Curry, it's not only obvious watching the fight but it's also known that he was having a lot of issues still trying to make 147... It's simply a matter of facts, nothing revisionist or made-up about it ... I despise inaccurate readings of historical record
I can't think of examples right at this precise moment but I'm sure there are many examples of fighters that struggle To make weight that don't fuck up that badly.
I have to say that at least in the fight against Brewster Klitschko looked winded after 4-5 rounds for no reason whatsoever.
What's ridiculous is you managed to miscomprehend my post. I didn't say he wasn't drained for the Honeyghan fight, read my post again. I said I don't believe that he was such a different fighter after the Honeyghan fight, like his fans say he was. For me he was always a physical talent, but lacked the intangible to be great, and tend to be vastly overrated. The guy got beat by mediocre Rene Jacquot, and always had trouble with tough pressure fighter (even at welter, he looked average against the bummish Korean he beat for the title) I would bet the house on Canelo beating him
Curry was absolutely dominant at 147 and obviously a different fighter at 154... Lol Rene Jacquot ... As good an example as there is that Curry was never the same
But why wasn't he the same? What caused this steep decline according to you. And why did he looked so dominant against Rossi just 2 fights before Jacquot?
Because Rosi was fucking awful ... Curry looked like shit in that fight actually, it's just Rosi had the chin of a cheerleader so Curry dropped him the few times he put anything together Why was he never the same? Who knows? Perhaps the physical toll of struggling to make the weight wore him out? Maybe he was devastated psychologically by losing the McCallum fight in the fashion he did? Either way the guy was obviously a poor imitation of himself ...
I don't think Curry looked like shit in that fight. ROssi was clinching all the time so it was hard for Curry to sustain a consistent offence, but it was a fairly solid performance imo
If Canelo couldn't wipe his ass with a faded Cotto, I'd love to hear how he wipes his ass with a prime Curry. There's not ONE thing in a boxing ring that Cotto did better than Curry.
He won that fight by a mile and unlike Rosi, that guy could take a punch How'd he look compared to how he looked against Starling, La Rocca, Jones, McCrory?
Curry is very dangerous for Canelo even at 155... Canelo isn't going to reach into Curry's space like Honeyghan and McCallum. He's going to try to duel with him. Canelo is more durable but Curry is rangier and versatile.
that's actually a good point. I tend to think that canelo is a pressure inside fighter, while he rarely ever does fight this way. At least not consistently.
Arguing about what ? About why curry is supposed to have deteriorated so much so rapidly ? Arguing about who would win between Canelo and Curry? It's true that if you don't want to argue about who would win a mythical matchup, you better not waste time in such a thread.
