Great match! Could go either way... Key is if Simon can resist the urge to trade

Cuevas was just a big punch . Brown is the better overall fighter. Have to go with Brown. I think the pettaway highlight reel KO works against Brown in MMs but that was somewhat of an aberration. Brown beats Cuevas.

Who the fuck brings up Pettway? Brown was washed up at that point

I'd say losing to Hearns hurts Cuevas in MMs more than anything hurts Brown ... Guy was a dominant champ for four years ... 11 successful defenses, 10 by KO and his challengers were overall better than Brown's but he gets treated by the ignorant like he's Carlos Bumdomir

Cuevas was a welterweight David Tua without the chin. Fuck him.

Cuevas had excellent offensive footwork. He was stubby and kind of slow but guys just couldn't seem to stay away from him.

I would pick Cuevas to stop Brown before he could get going in the middle rounds.

I probably would too but Brown has a shot... He could survive, he was a gritty guy

Brown was simply a better fighter imo, and seemed to have more heart also. I'd pick him.

I think I agree with Dog.

Brown was a slow starter, and he was hittable. I think of the first Trice fight, where Brown was in BAADDD trouble and on the verge of being KO'd early. If that's Cuevas, he gets finished. Cuevas is definitely of the better finishers in history.

    Cuevas KO 5.
