    Diaz KO 3

Juan Diaz was the 3rd greatest lightweight ever

I'm just going to say so with nothing to support the claim so therefore it's true

This is ONE Floyd mismatch which I endorse.

Would be a beautiful slaughter to watch, at either weight.

Mayweather beats anyone at 140lbs. Anyone.

Aaron Pryor would make it interesting as would Chavez and Taylor but he beats them all.

    Bullshit!

Whitaker turned in the best performance of his career at 140 - against Rafeal Pineda.

The Whitaker of the Pineda fight> Floyd of the Gatti fight

Pryor beats him as well. And Benitez arguably beats him.

I agree with Floyd beating Chavez at 140.

pryor is a tough fight for him certainly. However remember that at 140 Floyd was as aggressive fast and mobile as he was at the lighter weights but without the hand problems. That may have been his optimum weight. Pryor gives him he'll no doubt ( Pryor would have given anyone hell) but Floyd is active enough that his advantages in accuracy and defense would enable him to get a close decision win

Floyd of the Gatti fight was pretty much the perfect fighter. All that was missing was one punch power but he punched hard enough. Sure it was Gatti, but Gatti wasn't a complete and utter bum although he was made to look like one.

I think he gives all those guys a good fight at 140 but I wouldn't pick him over any of them

    of course not.

Tell me. Floyd at 140lb and below, what were his weaknesses that these guys would exploit? Let's assume he fights them without hand injuries ( MMs should assume injury free)

Kinda agree with Sly on the Gatti performance. Fair enough on the point that Gatti wasn't shit at the elite level but Floyd was fucking savage in that fight. Inch perfect performance.

Floyd of the Gatti fight WAS an awesome fighter though. I'd pick that Floyd over MOST junior welters in history. But not all.

As I said, Whitaker beats him. Pea only had one fight at 140, but looked brilliant in it. Plus, Rafael Pineda was a better fighter than that fuckin scrub Gatti. Whitaker was just better than Floyd, prime-for-prime.

    Pryor also beats Floyd.

Then you have junior welters who Floyd MIGHT beat, but it's not a lock - like Oscar.

Is Floyd really a sure thing over the junior welterweight DLH? I don't think he is.

He's not a sure thing over prime Mel Taylor either.

Neither Pryor or Whitaker are sure things over a prime 140 De la Hoya either. Historically, when you compare the top guys, 140lbs is a very competitive division.

Honestly though , Mayweather hate aside, consider the 140lb talent alone, how on Earth do you beat that guy? Serious question. How?

Whitaker not a sure thing over DLH at 140? LMFAO!

A PEAK Oscar arguably lost to the FADED Whitaker of 97.

How the Hell do you figure the same version of Oscar fares against a PEAK Whitaker?

Your Floyd nut huggery knows no bounds.

I know I'm labelled the chief Floyd nuthugger and I've gotten used to that label so it's all good

But the truth is Floyd is one of those handful of guys throughout history that has the ability to make good fighters look bad and to win fights so easily that he could play around and do silly things and still be in control.

Only a couple more guys I can think of had that ability: Jones, young Ali and Whitaker.

Jones could beat a guy senseless using just one hand (telesco)

Ali could predict the round and play around until the round and then finish the guy

    Whitaker, well he was Whitaker

Mayweather could carry on a conversation with the announcers while beating up a guy in a title fight.

I mean just look at the way Floyd handled Corrales. It was a walk in the park. Freitas, Castillo, casamayor went life and death with corrales and Mayweather seemed to be just practicing his moves in a training session.

The guy was MUCH better than y'all seem to realize.

its the same fight. Whitaker was still Whitaker maybe slightly inferior, and Oscar was better at 140.

Styles, it's the same fight: Whitaker more elusive, Oscar throwing more punches. Depends what the judges like better.

He carried on a conversation while beating up the legendary Henry Bruseles...

    Yeah, Leonard couldn't do that...

I shutter to think what Pryor would have done to Gatti.

Actually, I know what Pryor would have done to Gatti. Killed him before his wife got a chance to.

The real question is how many times Gatti drops him before Pryor stops him.

    Floyd makes Pryor look silly.

    Good lord

There's a reason why nobody else has ever fought like Aaron Pryor... The reason is nobody else could... Most great fighters would've been KO'd 50 times fighting the way he did... Guy was a freak... He would have absolutely annihilated Gatti

He'd annihilate Gatti like he annihilated most of his opponents. After bouncing comically off the canvas.
