Froch has enough power at 168lb to keep Collins keen. Look who ´The Celtic Warrior´ fought at 168: * Chris Eubank - at that point, totally gun-shy and spoiled his way to boring points victories * Nigel Benn - at that point, shot from the McClellan war and didnt really have legit power at 168 (sidenote: Collins also defended the WBO belt vs Neville Brown who I actually sparred 2 rounds with, in 1999 in his gym at Derby!)
I'd actually take Collins. Froch was rangier and heavier handed, but I think that gets offset by the fact that Collins was craftier, had a better chin, was less easy to hit, and physically stronger. Close fight, but I think Collins lands the cleaner, more telling shots and pulls it out.
I think Collins has the style to beat Froch, he was hard, very active, and strong. He was a really crafty fighter, overlooked when people describe him as some sort of mauler.
Yeah, thats when he was in his prime. Froch at 168lb is a tougher ask than a shot Benn and Eubank were....
