    Look, I saw it Thursday...I can hardly remember any of the "action" scenes...3,000 miles wide alien ship comes...and lifts up every building in whatever(city)/country it lands....."whatever goes up most come down" uhhhhhhh THE movie is an okay movie to watch with your friends/girlfriend/boyfriend(sly)/child sex slave(panchy).....but nothing more...

    It's a below-average film. The CGI battlescenes are unconvincing and emotionless yet take up about 90% of the film. The main characters are unlikable and you'll want them all dead halfway through. There is no real plot and what there is makes no real sense. Everyone acts stupidly and in unbelievably foolish ways.

    I'm a proper Sci-Fi geek and this is one of the rare films I couldn't wait to go watch. It wasn't worth even the free ticket we got to see it. Don't bother.

    4/10 is generous.

    The first film was fluff but it had a bit about it. It ripped off War of the Worlds, badly, but it built a narrative and there was the real prospect of peril, until Uncle Sam took centre stage. Even then, there was a bit of tension, some drama and a bit of emotion among the daftness. This was just stupid. The earthlings acted ridiculously, the friendly-aliens acted ridiculously and the bad-guys were Alien-rip-offs with far less brains. It was basically an expensive CGI compilation. I was glad when it ended, except not everyone I hoped to die had done.

    It's like i said. it had no fucking heart. Despite so much destruction, you felt very little of it. The whole movie seemed to be confined in the desert. And because they could get to the moon and back in a matter of minutes it seemed, the movie just seemed small.
