Boxrec's rating have to be taken with a pinch of salt. They have always been a bit out of whack. Am I right in thinking they are still calulated based on winning records etc? :dunno: Whoever has put him in the top ten at Ring is either crooked or on glue.

Brook has fought ONE half decent fighter and ONE fairly good fighter in 36 fights. He needed a friendly home decision to beat the half decent one first time round. He beat the second close but clear. That's his entire resume. It's hardly a surprise that none of his other opponents have troubled him. They are absolute and utter garbage.

It'll make good money for Brook, by comparison to what another PPV fight against a cokehead or Jo-Jo-Something would have done. Brook isn't well known or popular here at all.

    More hilarity from Kelly:

"This fight will separate me from the rest of Britain's world champions. Having beaten the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, that will make me the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world. That excites me so much."I can't wait to prove the doubters wrong. This is going to be the best win that any British fighter has ever pulled off.
I hope he comes in and tries to take my head off, because he thinks he's just fighting a welterweight...if he does that, he'll leave himself open and I'll take him out. I believe I've got the better boxing skills but I can also punch with bad intentions."

Unfortunately, a quick between-the-lines read of Eddie Hearn´s comments:
"Kell's got no fear, unlike many who have fought Golovkin, who were beaten before they even climbed into the ring, Whatever you do, do not rule him out. He's a British fighter willing to put it all on the line for himself and the fans. The British public should get behind him."

Should tell you all you need to know.

If Kell Brook wins his p4p status should be top 2

    Why?
What if Golovkin just has an off-night and gets outpointed? What if Golovkin batters Brook for 5 rounds, is on the verge of a stoppage and Brook swings wildly and KOs Golvkin?

Those factors should never elevate a winning fighter to any P4P status. It should never be based on one fight, always a resume on fighters beaten over a period.

The only thing this fight is going to separate Brook from are his senses.

To BE a P4P'er You have to BEAT a P4P'er OR Beat an Inordinate # of World Class, Top 10 Guys within Your Division...

For Better or Worse, GGG is Such...While REED Wouldn't Rate him # 2, You'd HAVE to List Kell Brook Top 10, @ the ABSOLUTE Worst, Should he Upset GGG...Hell, Even if he Puts Up an ADMIRABLE Performance, it'll BOOST Brook's Current P4P Status...

Kelly: ´´I looked into his eyes today and I could see fear just like myself. He knows he's in a proper fight Saturday fight and I'm ready for this moment. I feel he's on edge. He's uncomfortable and I believe it's my time. He can see in my eyes I want this 100 per cent, I want to show the world what I can do and I'm at a natural, healthy weight.´´

Brook looks good at that weight.

I'll say GGG by unanimous decision. Brook wins a couple of rounds by landing some good shots, but loses the judges by not engaging enough.

Brook looks to be in good shape. But I'm afraid the jump up in weight will affect his speed and stamina.

Triple G's power is just gonna be too much, I think.

    Golovkin KO 5

Brook was holding up his index finger which indicates "I'll last 1 round"

I think Brook may keep it competitive early doors but just don't see him handling Golovkin's power shots.

Golovkin seems different this time around. He looked like his mind was elsewhere at the weigh in. Seemed agitated. Could be nothing.

Mallinaggi said he was just annoyed at having to sit in ´that London´ traffic for over an hour en-route.

Golovkin is gravely ill. most insiders on twitter realize he is on his death bed and will have to suck it up vs this great foe

Not watching it. Decided to make a stand against all this PPV rubbish by not buying it. Cannot complain about the thing if I keep funding it, so fuck Smell, Hearn and the rest of those bastards. I'll be able to catch the violent KO somewhere online after the run tomorrow anyway.
