Supposedly after Danny Gift fights Molina, the Thurman unification is next.

Early thoughts? I think Thurman will beat the Hell outta Danny Gift. Too fast, too many weapons for Garcia imo. The question is can Danny Gift handle the same bombs Porter took?

    Good....

Hopefully Spence Fights Peterson, Ponomarev, Berto or Porter for the Vacant IBF Title...w/Porter Being the FORMER Champ, REED Has NO Problem w/Him Moving to the FRONT of the Line..

Porter had a tougher style for Thurman than Garcia because Porter has quick feet and can close distance pretty quickly.

Garcia is lead footed and I think Keith is too fast for him... both feet wise and DEFINITELY handspeed wise.

Plus, Garcia's power looks pretty underwhelming at 147. Thurman doesn't exactly have the chin of Carlos Monzon, but he doesn't have a pathetic chin like Khan.

Garcia better dig the body, that's Thurman's weakness.

If Spence destroys Peterson, and Thurman convincingly beats Garcia.... then Thurman-Spence becomes the best welterweight matchup in a very long time.

I think Thurman takes it....Thurman is average but he bring a lot of violent brutality...he is aggressive...unless Garcia catches him with an eyes close left hook like he did Khan...Thurman will be too much especially in the mid-late rounds...

So its 50/50 first 4 rounds of Garcia is willing is able/willing to engage Thurman in a war....if Garcia think he can box like he did vs Matthysee...it's over from the start...go Garcia win or lose in the trenches...

Of course there is always the chance of Garcia getting a "gift"...do they share the same promoter??

Thurman is more maketable than Garcia at this point. Keith will get the decision if it's close.

I think the general feeling in boxing is that Danny Gift's best days are behind him.

He looked like shit against Guerrero imo. If that Garcia shows against Thurman, Keith will have a field day.

I'm not convinced Garcia can handle the same flush bombs that Porter handled from Thurman.

I can envision a scenario where Thurman's handspeed and power makes Garcia a "good boy" and Danny gets gunshy.

Even a war SHOULD favor Thurman. Garcia's a wide puncher with slow hands. Both guys rely on their hooks, but Thurman's hook is shorter/quicker and he should win most exchanges. Thurman's also BIGGER, don't forget that.

I know that is why I ask...do they have the same promoter? If they do...iGarcia is fucked...he's. Yankee rican with no fanbase....Thurman fambase consist of close family members...but he has a better upside(his mouth, he could shine as a bragger in the right press conference)

You know it's sad when you're a RICAN who can't get a fan base. You would think Garcia would bigger amongst Ricans, but even yall don't give a shit about him. He's a good looking dude (no homo) yet they can't even get Rican bitches to sweat him. Rican bitches LOVE Cotto... too bad he's not attracted to them back.

Garcia has always fought to the level of his competition. I do believe he will surprise everybody AGAIN and pull an upset, then he will go back to fight another bum next.

Thurman and Garcia are Both MANAGED by Al Haymon, Technically...Haymon Exists in that MIDDLE Ground btwn Management Duties and Promotional Obligations...

Haymon's Used VARIOUS Promoters Over the Years, but NONE of His Guys Actually SIGN w/Them...Thing about Haymon is he Has Yet to FORCE Any of his Guys Into Facing Each Other...But it's NEARING that Time, Given Al's Stranglehold on the Welterweight Division...

I don't buy that Garcia "fights to the level of his comp" bullshit. He isnt fuckin James Toney or Wilfred Benitez. Danny Gift is pretty limited.... especially when he has to lead. That's 100% accurate.

If Thurman utilizes his feet and angles correctly, lead footed Garcia is gonna struggle.

If Garcia wins, then yes. I'll gladly eat crow.

Not saying it's mismatch. Obviously Gift has a chance. But based on how Garcia has looked at 147, I'm making Thurman a solid favorite.

Don't matter to me who wins. Spence breaks his foot off in both their asses.

Easy enough to make the argument for Thurman. He has more power. He showed big stamina and guts vs Porter. I just think Garcia's timing and accuracy are quite a bit better than Porter's and I think he'll land enough against Thurman to look better and get rounds.

I'm tellin ya, the style isn't as difficult for Thurman. Yes, Garcia has better technical skills than Porter. But he doesn't have Porter's footspeed, he isn't as physically strong as Porter, and he doesn't have a swarming style. His laid back countering style plays into Thurman's hands and his feet are too slow to close the gap on Thurman.

Floyd will not come out of retirement for a tune-up. He will go straight to a megafight. And if by any sort of miracle Canelo beats GGG expect Floyd calling him out for a rematch the next morning!

Honestly, please drop Floyd.... he's the past. I no interest in seeing him ever fight again. Let these young guys have their go.

If you're going to do the time you may as well commit the crime.

You refuse to drop this " sly has a Floyd agenda" shtick regardless of what I post on a boxing forum so I'm going to make you sick till it drives you mad, with Floyd posts. I'm going to do it on every topic you're involved in until you repent and beg for forgiveness for your wanton behaviour. Lol

I think Thurman should be favored. Garcia has a chance, though. Mostly due to Thurman being weak in the body plus his tendency to mark up.

Gun to my head, Thurman via clear UD. Faster, more powerful, and is the naturally bigger man. Garcia would have to be able to hurt Thurman with his power and it's just not likely to happen.

great fight. can't wait. will be interesting to see what garcia does. he may not have the foot speed and strength of porter, but he is an even better counter puncher. clearly, porter's game plan against thurman will not work for garcia. but that does not mean he cannot have success.

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit,.. Jamie Foxx fucked Thurman up, he had him reeling and squealing and even his corner of wise-guys began to cry. Predictably Thurman is on the mic at the end setting things straight... "defence beats offence any deeeey",...and thats honesty if nothing else, conceding defeat on his own terms.
