Just have a really bad feeling. I'm hoping like Hell that Kov will give Ward's arrogant ass a terrible beating, but I think Dre is gonna win by a clear margin. Hope I'm very wrong.

Been thinking that too, also hope I'm wrong. Ward is an excellent fighter but he's a bit annoying.

Kovalev has MORE Room for Error, Whereas Ward Has to Be Virtually PERFECT...

REED Doesn't Like Ward's Chances of Fighting 12 PERFECT Rounds w/Kovalev...Every Single Time Ward Gets Hit, SHIT Could Happen...

It's a very dangerous fight for Ward for the first 6 rounds or so. If Kovalev doesn't hurt him and take some level of control by then it could roll down hill for him.

Ward is ASS....the dude has used STINK tactics to win most of his fights. He has become a master stinker, he's a mastermind at controlling distance...that 18-36 inch space between fighters...he has the speed advantage to land that devastating combo of his...punch n clinch...

Kov is going to fuck his life UP...clinching against the stronger fighter is a no no....Ward use to fancy himself a C level Roy Jones??! He will have to be an A+ Imitation to beat Kov

He'll have to be perfect to win.

I'm not convinced Ward's roughhousing and inside wrestling is gonna work against a bigger and stronger fighter.

I think Kovalev will grind him down and win a close, competitive UD with Ward on the defensive for most of the night.

I don't pick a schooling but Ward 8-4 might happen. Kovalev wasn't totally impressive against Hopkins nor Chilemba, who are the two guys that most resemble Ward. Of course, his motivation will be supreme for this one, hopefully that helps

Ward is not unhittable ala Whitaker/Mayweather but he's very crafty. Kovalev has to keep focused and not let himself get frustrated with negative tactics. Set the highest pace possible that he can maintain and mix up the punches. He can't worry about landing flush. Just keep hitting anything. Arms, body, top of head etc. With his power those shots will take their toll even if they aren't eye catching.

Yep, Ward's a C Level Roy Jones (Athletically) that MORPHED Into a B- Version of a PAST PRIME BHop (Technically)...

As Loooooooooooong as Kovalev BELIEVES in his Own CHIN, WORKRATE and STAMINA, it's Hard Envisioning Ward Beating Him...

Ward will make Kovalek look like an amateur. Worst schooling than Floyd vs Pacman.

Ward's better than PAST primed Hopkins.

Not as good as prime Hopkins though.

PRIME Hopkins Wasn't a Negative Fighter @ All...PAST Prime Hopkins (Pavlik, Cloud or Calzaghe Hopkins) was BETTER @ Being OVERTLY Negative than Ward's EVER Been @ It...

Ward's More SPRY, More AFFletic than the PAST Prime Version of Hopkins REED Speaks of, yet NOT as Crafty...NOR Does Ward Possess the Same Punch Resistance...

I dont get all negativity towards ward. The dude is a good dude inside the ring as well as outside. He comes to fight. Is always in shape. Doesnt talk shit about his opponents. I mean damn why the animosity?

Yeah I was about to ask the same question. I mean I don't necessarily agree he's a good dude because I don't know anything about him. In fact I'm not sure I've ever even seen a full fight of his. Still I'm curious why some people on here dislike him. Is it the negative fighting style?

Yup, increasingly that's the feeling most are having. It's certainly possible. Competitive fights, on paper, rarely end up being that way when you have such a clash of styles

I think I can speak for X here.

Ward just comes off very FAKE and pretentious.

He plays UP an image that I don't buy is really him. And if it is, no need to shove anything down anyone's throat.

Plus, he's a boring fighter to watch. All thy holding and wrestling is an eye cancer and I just don't care for it. Doesn't mean he's not a quality fighter. But not somebody I care to root for.

Fair enough. I will say though that a Kovalev win is better for the sport. He's more marketable and we need another Mike Tyson type destroyer in the game

He doesn't come across as fake to me. He's basically an improved Hopkins in almost every way. He's a better fighter, he proved it earlier in his career, he never had a thug life beginning, he doesn't resort to gimmicks to sell himself, he doesn't cherry pick.

In the end, Hopkins' way worked. It seems he really did end up a successful, good guy. I just think Ward started off as one.
