    That is, ´if any´?

    Antonio Margarito?
    Kostya Tszyu?
    Paul Williams?

I can´t think of too many, and even those names above I can´t really see a valid reason why Mayweather would duck them.

Also it might be time to remember that for the first 3/4 of the 2000-2009 decade, it was Mayweather himself who was being ducked for being a high-risk/low-reward fighter....

Floyd SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT Margarito, Yes...REED Stops Short of Saying he "Ducked" Margarito Though...

Stylistically, there Just WASN'T Much for Floyd to Worry About...

That Being Said, Floyd Straight Up DUCKED Manny Pacquiao for 5 Years or So, and ONLY Faced Him After Manny Showed VULNERABILITY, and w/Unprecedented Drug Testing (That Floyd Himself DIDN'T Adhere To)...

Paul Williams is more of a 'stylistic' problem being 6' tall or whatever and southpaw.

I don't see how anyone could deny that he ducked Pac.

According to Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's camp fucked-up the 50-50 deal that Mayweather agreed to in 2009.

He avoided Margarito and Williams and it's pretty obvious why. Why risk a tough bruising fight against a much bigger fighter when everyone will assume it would be an easy fight anyway?

    Obviously Manny.
I remember his (strategic) "retirement" around the time Marg/ Cotto/ Pacman/ Williams were all looking dangerous...

Agreed. I'd even throw Joshua Clottey, in that conversation as well. JC didn't win much but he was talented and big and strong.

I remember during the time when Pacquiao was going out of his way to fight every dangerous guy in and around his division (in their primes) in order to prove his greatness, Floyd was constantly telling us how great Floyd was while only fighting the kind of guys he was sure he could beat. I certainly hope history will remember him for that.

    Floyd ducked no one.

Any logic used to suggest that Floyd ducked anyone can be applied to Sugar Ray Leonard and his own multiple retirements and fighters by the name of:

    Aaron Pryor
    Mike McCallum
    Pre-Iran Barkely/post Hagler...Hearns
    Michael Nunn
    Nigel Benn

If Leonard didn't "duck" the above fighters, then Floyd didn't "duck" Clottey, Margarito, Cotto or Williams. Can't have it both ways.

That's Not an Apples and Apples Comparison Though...

Leonard Retired Due to a DETACHED RETINA...Floyd "Retired" So the Pac/Cotto/Margarito/Williams Quartet Could Fight EACH OTHER, to Determine Who was The Man...When Leonard Returned, it was Against MARVINfuckingHAGLER, @ a Higher Weight Class than Ray Had EVER Fought...Floyd Returned Against JM Marquez, Who was Fighting 2 Divisions ABOVE Where he'd Previously Fought...

You Don't "Duck" Aaron Pryor and Mike McCallum, Only the End Up Facing Marvin Hagler...You're BETTER than that, Brother Sly...

The Other Names You Listed WEREN'T Ever Legit Options, Given the Stage Leonard was @ in his Career...

Detached retina aside....(i'll give you that one)...let's begin with the post-Hagler fight retirement. THAT retirement was equivalent to Mayweather's post Oscar De La Hoya retirement....which was, in the way you would put it, "@ a Higher Weight Class than Floyd Had EVER Fought..."....and I'll add to that at his 5th weight class. So Mayweather to retire at that point is no shame.

Additionally, in the way you would put it, "You Don't "Duck" Paul Williams and Margarito, Only the End Up Facing Oscar De La Hoya...You're BETTER than that, Brother REED..."

So again...we can't criticize Floyd for his post Oscar retirement and not facing Williams, Cotto and Margarito and give Leonard a pass for who he didn't fight post Hagler.

Lastly, in how you would put it, "The Other Names You Listed WEREN'T Ever Legit Options, Given the Stage Floyd was @ in his Career..."

People criticize Floyd for the Pacquiao delay and other fights in his mid to late thirties...but Leonard was no older when guys like Benn and Nunn were around, younger in fact.

Given the BREVITY of Leonard's Career, the FAIREST Comparison btwn Him and Floyd is Comparable Opponents by a PARTICULAR Number of Fights, NOT by Age...

    And You KNOW This...

And Unlike Floyd, who Faced DeLa at '54, then Moved BACK DOWN to '47 (Until Forcing a CATCHWEIGHT on Canelo, for Canelo's Title), Leonard Moved Up BEYOND Middleweight, After Defeating Hagler...

There MIGHT Be Some Comparable Fighters You Can Reference, to Make Your Floyd Loving Point, but Ray Leonard AIN'T that Dude, Bruh...

Moved beyond Middleweight? What...to fight Lalonde? Floyd, coming back and facing the then undefeated top 4 p4P fighter called Hatton was an infinitely better matchup than facing that unknown, inept blond motherfucker.

I'm not "Floyd loving", I just want boxing fans to be consistent with their indignation.

By the way, REED, didn't Roy Jones move back down to 175lbs after beating Ruiz? I hope you have similar criticism for Jones.

Roy LEGITIMATELY Tried to Make Fights w/Mike Tyson AND Evander Holyfield, then Moved Back Down on 6 Weeks Notice, Forever KILLING his Body and Career...Roy Had EVERY Intention of DEFENDING his Portion of the Heavyweight Title, Against Heavyweights...

Floyd Had NO Intentions of EVER Defending the Jr. Middleweight Title, Despite Winning it 2wice...

If You Look @ WHY Roy Moved Back Down, it's Not Analogous to Floyd @ All...

Hearns was considered damaged goods at the time; he was recently fucked up by Iran Barkley (why didn't Leonard fight Barkley?) and had looked terrible against Olajide. Leonard was clear favourite in that one. Duran? Don't make me laugh. Duran was an old fat man and a former lightweight. Let's face it, Leonard's post Hagler career was a joke. But we give him a pass because of his pre-Hagler career. Floyd and others don't get the same pass.

Sly's desperation to defend his man-crush at the expense of guys like Leonard and Hagler is beyond parody at this point.

Let's assume there was some duckability going on...do we cut Mayweather some slack for not fighting solid 147'ers like Margarita, Williams and even Martinez...because afterall, he did kick-off his career at 130lb?
(ditto the same reason Golovkin isn't jumping 8lb to 168)

Hearns Beat James Kinchen AFTER Losing to Barkley...Olajide was AFTER the Leonard Fight and Hearns Went On to Beat Virgil Hill Beyond That, Since You're Calling him "Damaged Goods"...

Why Didn't Leonard Fight Barkley???...Because Barkley LOST to Duran...Duran's Very Next Opponent was Leonard...

REALITY is, Leonard Has FEWER Fights than Floyd, and a BETTER Resume...And Based on WHO Leonard Fought & WHEN, He's an ILL Fit for a Floyd Fan to Reference, in Terms of Other Fighters "Ducking" Guys...

Never mind fought none of them, he actually 'retired' so they could beat the shit out of each other while he sat on the sidelines, only to return a few years later and beat the shop-worn remnants of a couple of them.

    Dreadful rubbish.

I got it mixed up....it was a long time ago. I just remember that aside from Barkley he looked terrible in another fight pre-the Leonard return, hence why ray was a heavy betting favourite.

Anyway my point here isn't to denigrate Ray's resume or to "man crush" on Mayweather, it's to point out the inconsistency of boxing fans as it related to both contemporary fighters and the ones they hate.

You are in no position to talk on this. I seem to recall you picking Hatton to beat Floyd. If Floyd fighting Hatton was no biggie then why would you have made Hatton the favourite?

The fact that Hatton, a man universally slated around these parts nowadays and previously wiped out in five minutes by Pacquiao, is probably one of Floyd's best five wins tells you about the quality of his resume.

Hatton fought pac after PBF, not before.

As said, PBF pre-Hatton career was great, afterward, it was rubbish, bar a few exceptions.
