    Can the rock-chinned, heavy-handed ´Ringo´ pre-fight verbalize and psycho-out the rock-chinned, fast-handed mentally-fragile ´Iron Mike´?

    Bonavena (´69) v Tyson (´89)

    Ummm..... no.

Mike would beat Bonavena within an inch of his life.

If Bonavena could deck the mighty Frazier and deal with the vastly faster Ali then he absolutely has a chance here.

Just what would happen to Mike once he faced a big strong whitey that wouldn't fold easily is anyones guess.

    Bonavena DQ4 Mike.

Bonavena might just have been one of the coolest heavyweights ever.

    Bonavena probably gets stopped late.

    Remember Tyson's attributes aren't Ali's.
Ringo was a tough, tough guy and would test Tyson's fragile little mind and chin....at least.

Xplosive and Sly are talking out of their asses here...

    No, you are.

Tyson didn't need to have Ali's attributes. He had his own. Speed, ferocity and ambidextrous power. Tyson's chin was far from fragile.

Tyson would walk right through Bonavena like he was Berbick or Tubbs.

    Tyson a fragile chin? LMFAOOO!!

Tyson had an excellent chin. Bonavena didn't have near the firepower to hurt Mike.

Tyson having a fragile mind is a huge exaggeration. Tyson haters love to depict him as someone who came undone anytime a guy fought back, but it's simply not true. Fighting back against Tyson virtually always meant simply opening yourself up for counters and getting KO'd.

Least of all would Mike's mental toughness be a factor against a punching bag like Bonavena.

Bonavena was tough and durable as hell, there's no way Tyson gets him out early... I'd pick Tyson by comfortable UD

Bonavena was tough, but too easy to hit.

Also, even though size doesn't matter at all, I still claim that taking Karl Mildenberger's punch is different from taking Tyson's.

Bonavena might be on his feet when the bout is stopped, but I don't think it would take more than six rounds

I'm surprised at you. We dont always agree on MMs but I still tend to respect your opinions. This is madness. You know boxing and how these things play out. A guy like Bonavena with his mediocre defense and mediocre speed and relatively small size against a prime Mike Tyson. This is Tyson PinklonThomas all over again ( Thomas had an even better chin than Bonavena arguably) except Bonavena lasts half as long.

Tyson was a wrecking machine. He used to fuck up decent fighters. He was the first man to stop many a fighter....Thomas, Spinks, Holmes...list goes on.

Bonavena go this distance with Tyson? Come on dude, you're better than that.
