Why does an album that so encapsulated ´The Summer Of Love´ of 1967....actually fail to do just that...in 1967?

 

If anything that record is a complete rejection of the summer of love, IMO

The overall tone is alienation bordering on paranoia

Even this song, deceptively cheery, follows a line like "I heard a funny thing... Somebody said to me 'you know that I could be in love with almost anyone... I think that people are the greatest fun'" with "and I will be alone again tonight, my dear"

 

Yep..my bad...I should have said the song 'Alone Again Or'....NOT the album!

Terrific record... I'm not into their other albums really but this one just really gels and the songs are excellent

This song used to drive me crazy when I was younger. I would hear it on the radio, but never knew where to buy it. I had all of the Zep records and all of the Plant solo stuff at that point, but this song wasn't on any of them. Of course, this was long before the internet and having the answer to everything at your fingertips. I finally found out it was from the White Nights movie soundtrack that I was able to track down on cassette, I think at a flea market.

Anyway, one of Plant's best solo tunes.

I wouldn't be shocked if it lead to that. From the sounds of all reports, he was Baker Acted and probably either threatened or caused harm to himself. His idiot young fans have always dismissed it like "Oh it's just Kanye being himself," "He's a genius, they're all a little crazy," but it's clear he's a paranoid schizo.

Wouldn't be the least bit shocked if he offed himself.
