Barkley too. Besides why are we even bothering trying to justify benn's power at 160lbs? Anyone who saw him in his early days moving up witnessed power hardly ever seen before. He looked like a mini Tyson. His fight with Anthony Logan was typical of this actually because Benn was hurt and on the verge of being knocked out himself and in that state still managed to uncork a punch that sent Logan into the next day.

Then they made a film about it called Logans Run featuring some white fuck as Logan.

    Those were the days.

Logan. Was it Terry Logan :dunno:

I think Hurricane Carter should be in the top 5, definitely top 10. KO win over Griffith is an impressive KO win

    Just for openers

Can't believe nobody mentioned Pavlik, the guy is basically responsible for the mess that is Jermaine Taylors life.

You should put that one in MM... that woulda been a damn exciting scrap.

I'd pick Echols to stop Miranda in a wild war.

Pavlik was NOT a bigger puncher than Benn. Better technique? Hell yes. More accurate? Yes. More power? Definitely not.

I wouldn't call Mugabi a bigger puncher than Benn either. How are you gonna question which durable opponents Benn KO'd, when Mugabi's best win was over Frank Fletcher. Juan Roldan had already knocked Fletcher dead before Mugabi stopped him.

I'd say Arthur Abraham belongs on the list before Pavlik. He wasn't as accurate or as busy as Pavlik, but he had bigger power when he did land.

BTW - no top 10 list should be without Valdez.

Pavlik and mugabi did not hit harder than Benn for starters. Some of those black and white movie guys are doubtful too

Which b&w guys are you referring to? Florentino Fernandez fought in the b&w era, and I would agree with Irish that he was probably a bigger puncher than Benn. Fernandez had one of the biggest left hooks in middleweight history.

    Nonce.

Jermaine won the ree. Pavlik went on to get put in his place against Hopkins, and Jermaine had a stuttering fit while waaaay ahead on the cards against Danny Boy. Who ruined whom?.. :crafty:

I know not this Fernandez character but no one except Jackson punched definitively harder than Benn at 160. I think I need to remind you fellas about the 160lb Benn (he lost power when he moved up to 168lbs).

Come on, you can do better than that. I'm sure you can find a way to tie Nigel Benn to my supposed Mayweather agenda.
