The Taylor of the Hopkins and Super Six efforts faces off against the Toney that faced off against McCallum and Barkley.
Kinda inclined to blame tightness at the weight and age for hopkins losing - it was really down to inactivity through the first half of the fight both times (fairly inexcusable the second time). Toney should be able catch up with him
The Hopkins who fought Taylor was NOT better than a prime Toney. Prime Toney was more athletic, had quicker reflexes, and was better equipped for fighting at a high pace than the 05 Hopkins. And Toney had a lot more pop than Hopkins... any version of Hopkins really. He'd take Taylor apart.
You'd think Toney would fuck him up but I could see Taylor out working him if Toney doesn't quite show up.
Taylor has moments early but Toney busts him up and stops him. Too skilled and sharp at for Taylor at either weight.
In MM's I'm always analyzing under the assumption that both are at their bests (unless the thread states otherwise). The best middleweight Toney was the one from the first McCallum fight. A fight JT clearly won IMO, McCallum got a gift draw. Taylor gets fucked up by that Toney.
