Also, "They Live" is a wildly entertaining and absurd movie with clumsy but heartfelt far left overtones

Starshiptroopers shouldn't count among guilty pleasures, imo, that was a clever film

Those three are not 'guilty pleasures', those three are 80's classics loved by almost everyone!

That film has become very influential among the conspiracy theory subculture. Even all the OBEY messages have become a current fad in t-shirts, caps and posters.

Xanadu is probably the most embarrassing film a straight man can admit liking. It was a box office flop even though the soundtrack sold like hot cakes and had three top ten hits with 'Xanadu' & 'Magic' grabbing #1 spots in the charts. The film is plain ridiculous, makes no sense, has multiple plot holes and most of the musical numbers are 'showstoppers' that does not advance the plot one bit. The ending sequence is a convoluted mess that is more fitting for a youtube videos remix than a film. Michael Beck was badly miscast here and couldn't fit the shoes of Andy Gibb, the original choice for the role. Still...it has Olivia Newton-John in rollerskates as a sexy muse, Sandahl Bergman's 'I'm Alive' choreography was awesome, the songs are great, particularly the ones from ELO and has 80 year old Gene fucking Kelly singing and dancing! Plus the computer effects were a sight to behold by 1980 standards which paved the way for those early 80s music videos. I watched this film upon its release with a bunch of friends in an almost empty movie theatre and we were trashing the film afterwards, but a week later I went alone to watch it again...and guess who I found there? my same friends who also trashed the film! We all had to reluctantly admit that we loved the film.

It's really, really bad, but I'm like a kitty cat chasing a shiny bell whenever I watch it. I've seen it like 3 times already.

A guilty pleasure is something you might not admit openly for fear of embarrassment like cdogg admitting he secretly loves God is Not Dead .

Surely a guilty-pleasure has to be a movie that is well-known to a degree, surely?

    Like....Point Break, for example.

Norbit might be the single dumbest and most unfunny movie ever made.

Yeah but this implies you only saw it once. A guilty pleasure means you will stop and watch that shit over and over again. BTW, i hated that fucking movie. Fuck that gold digging bitch.

Bruh....be real.... Norbit was a fuckin retarded movie. On the same level of horrible as "Little Man".

I guess my guilty pleasure movies are the Child's Play series. Other than the first one, they're all pretty stupid.... but Chucky is entertaining enough to make them all watchable.

This is an EDDIE MURPHY Flick, Bruh...Wayans Brother Shit is SEVERAL Levels Lower, Automatically...

Honestly, if You DIDN'T Laugh @ All During "Norbit", You LACK a Sense of Humor...Yes, it's a Silly Flick, but it's Eddie Murphy Showcasing Some of the SAME Range of Characters he Did in "Coming to America" and the "Nutty Professor" Movies...

Very Few KNEW Eddie was the Ol' Jewish Guy in the My-T-Sharp Barber Shop in "Coming to America"...Even FEWER Knew Eddie was Mr. Wong, the Over-the-Top Racist, ASIAN Guy, Who 'Just Soooooo Happened' to Run the Orphanage Norbit Grew Up In......

After Being HURLED Roadside, as his Parents Passed Mr. Wong's Orphanage, Mr. Wong Came Out, Scooped Norbit Up and Said, "Another Black One...Can't Give These Away...You Ugly Black One Too, You Be Here Loooooooooooong Time, Nobody Ever Come and See..."

Tons of SUBTLE Humor that You've Apparently OVERLOOKED in "Norbit"...

"Looks like a Escalade in a Wedding Dress"...

"I'm Comin' @ You w/Razor Blades and Lemon Juice"...

You've Pretty Much Got to Be a Comedy SNOB to Derive ZERO Humor Out of "Norbit"....STUPID Movie for Sure, yet it Brought Underrated FUNNY!!....
